Kristoff St. John's Rant on a Message Board?

Apparently, Kristoff St. John (Neil, "The Young and The Restless") mentioned on his Facebook page that he is a member of and reads the Mediadomain fan forum. He has posted in the past as 'Moonboy.' Yesterday, Kristoff mentioned the forum and 'Moonboy' posted about Neil's character. It is rather laugh-out-loud funny if it's really him.

Why Hahahaha? I'm INSPIRED by his passion. Maybe there is hope....

It was a bum storyline, and one (in part) sort of started by LML. Now the decks are clear, Neil is clearly on a reinvention path...there is someplace to go. I truly believe

is going to put some heart into this. Moonboy needs our help, I think... I'm upset at Neil for his infidelity, but I'm upset at Nick for the same reason.

If the show is no longer inspired by Neil, I'd let the character go. But it sounds like both the actor and the show might be re-energized?

I see what you mean, but I think he is fighting for his job here.

He saw what happened to Don Diamont.

I also like that he sees Neil in some ways as I do, and he's fighting for the integrity of that through all the sh!t that's been thrown at this character the last few years. There is a pride and dignity here...he's fighting for Neil, and himself, and he realizes that Neil has again (sigh) become a sort of last standard barrier for the shreds of one of the last well-conceived African American families on daytime....

It might be over the top, but it conveys a VERY different impression than the "phoning it in" ("doesn't come to work prepared') that Nia Peeples implied. If he's fighting and willing to fight, and he's reinvogorated by his story and character, I'll be there with him.

Amen! Of course, when it veers into controlling things (the color the walls, lines you refuse to say) it can get difficult...

But that is not what I'm reading here. What I see is an actor who realizes the damage that has been done to his character but -- in his mind -- sees the "phoenix" arc for Neil. And he is asking us to be patient and trusting that redemption is coming.

I agree with dmarex, though. If we're doing "clean slate", we really do need to free Neil from Tyra and the "Singing Kid".

If KSJ is the author of this rant then --IMO he is truly deluded. Yes, there are several fan forums who are anti-Kneel(as he is called)and then there are others who have analyzed and dissected the character very effectively. There was a conversation on this very site last week that fit that bill perfectly.

The fans have grown tired of "Go along to get along Neil" (I know I have) and seem to be saying to TIIC -- MEND him or END him.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
