Y&R: Oh, you Lane fans say the darndest things!

But I'm really curious. Why do they like those two? And not even like, admire? Like they're deities? Are they only smitten because they're aesthetically pleasing? They're clearly simple creatures, these fans, but they must enjoy Lane because of something more meaningful than good looks.

And the funny thing is that on paper, they'd work really well. Cane, adjusting to this complex hostile white collared world from a simple and content blue collared one, Lily, the daughter of a high powered executive and a jet-setting world-famous model, divorcee in her early twenties with a "strong" modelling career about to rev up again.

I'd be a fan of those two, too, if they were conceived and conveyed properly. Are they written so poorly because the y&r people know that they have a loyal group of fanatics who'd follow them to the end of the earth just to see them get married?

I think I'll venture into the dark side and ask. There must be a reason behind this insanity.

I agree. It's not an aspect of the show for 13-17 year olds, it's for dolts and dunces because even the Noah/Eden story has more going for it than this one.

How did they even get together? I can't even remember because their history has been blocked out by all their non-adventures.

I'm not nuts about the pairing. But I enjoy making fun of them!

And if they are bringing in some fanbase-addicted tweens (which I think they are in some cases), then I think Y&R can cater to a wide-ranging audience. The problem would be when Y&R decided to make the tweens the ONLY demo it wanted to target. That is not the case right now.

I'm not bothered. Honestly, every soap has its hard-core shipper fans who are (luckily for the actors) two time zones' away from stalking the unsuspecting objects of their affection. I honestly do not think that Y&R believe these kids represent the sum total of the show's audience.

Well, we wouldn't have so many vets in the forefront if they did think that. But they must believe people actually enjoy them if they keep shoving them down our throats. And I think one of the biggest problems with them is how little sexual chemistry they share. They're like brother and sister. Even Katherine and Kevin have more chemistry.

I actually saw her post on the CBS board.

There can't be two people in the world who love Emmy Rossum, Lane, and thought CK looked devastatingly sexy in that strapless red dress she wore last week. I swear there were multiple posts about how they wondered how Cane didn't rip all of her clothes off in that scene and went all googly-eyed after the the pup.

I'll tell ya why: cause he's a 13 year old boy stuck in a 35 year old's body.

Or is it 40?

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
