If it's true, I can't say I'm too interested in it. I guess Hendrickson was an obvious choice for them, so she'll, once again, pay a confused bisexual.

Don't know what to think about Mac though...

I agree.

Honestly, if its true (and i dont know if it is. it seems like it could have easily been a typo. or a miss communication) then it screams LOOK AT US! And picking the two char's played by actress who playes lesbians on other shows and have a strong lesbian fan base seems desperate, IMHO.

I hope its not true...

Tho not gonna lie, id tots buy Mac as a lesbian. And it has nothing to do with CF being in the role, aside from Kruger ive always thought Mac could be. When AshBash returned i def could have seen it. Kimsey just gave off that vibe to me.

It could also mean something non romantic/sexual.

Like does she befriend Chloe and maybe fall for Billy, or finds out Billys a man whore and cheating on chloe. Does she choose to tell Chloe? Does she choose to be with Billy and hurt chloe? Idk.

I just hope this isnt the same sex storyline, because from NB's tease it seemed like it was gonna be a gay who is gay. a friend of Dorothy's is a term usually one used to describe gay men.

So, I agree with every word. Mackenzie, on our watch, has NEVER HAD SEX WITH A MAN.

But, I really really don't want to see the cliche of AMC's lesbian/bi with L-Word's lesbian. Ugh. I'd love to see a well done lesbian story on Y&R...but not with these two...only because it seems too expedient.

That said, Canadian TV Guide said "friend of Dorothy", implying a male gay character...so I'm assuming this is just good teasing for The Advocate's audience.

And dear Sylph...how can we give much credence to your "boring" judgment when you seldom say anything nice :). For the critic to be viewed as critical, not negative, you have to give us some good with your bad :). And I say that -- I hope you know this -- sincerely and truly loving every contribution you make here.

Now, JP, this is why "you oughta be in pictures". Because I love the idea that Mac befriends Chloe because, at some creepy level, it is a way to indirectly get closer to Billy and HIS BABY. Now that I could watch!

I don't find this boring at all. But I am in a mental place, due to the Jess-Walton-Don-Diamont-as-a-signal-of-the-need-to-cut-costs thing, where I want no new characters introduced for a while, as they clean house/pare down what they have. That said, Mac coming at this time is intriguing for many reasons, and it does bolster a key part of the "next generation" that this show needs for longer-term viability.

ITA.

I dont think his comment was met to be taken as a deep look on the genre or the state of Y&R. it was just a simple i dont care about this post. and people post far less, at least it wasnt just a emotioncon. or an "oh".

ha. no.

never. ive growen up around it. i have friends in it. i date people in it. thats more than enough.

im perfectly content with my crazy hotel. but TY.

fyi, i dont think either one was about cutting costs. We dont know the details of Jess' contract but its prob more to do with episodes than money. as for Don, again i doubt it really had to do with curring coasts and saving money and more with "do we get the value for the amount we spend" and with Brad Carlton, they didnt.

Jack understands what I say perfectly. I really don't care about this and on a Bell soap, I think it'll turn out to be a bland or just a plain bad story. I'd rather see a hostile takeover/business intrigue story, or to satisfy you, Mark, Sharon and Phyllis dump Nick and get on with their lives, Phyllis ends up being pushed off a cliff (in my world, this character and actress have nothing else to do on this show; generally she has to have a hilarious death, as much as this is a horrible thing to say), Sharon becomes a successful, on-her-own businesswoman or something and does not end up in a "nuthouse" or anything of the sorts, the Winters are written off... Everything is OK by me (well not really, but let's pretend), but no more endless, worn out, deadly dull triangles we've seen fifty times already. :)

Well, no! Because then we'll have to lock Sharon up! And for Sharon perhaps I want a transition from a tortured soul, woman who made wrong choices, who kind of ended up as a loser, "whore" or whatever to something more complex... I know I'm being vague here, but you'll get the picture.

I agree.

It was just wishful thinking.

To be totally rational, the writers need to just let people get out of GC without dying. I do not want another death in a few months that will lead a storyline through the entire summer. It was fun for awhile, but now it needs to stop.

Since there's a thread, I may as well post what I've heard.

Firstly, that quote is strange, and doesn't have anything to do with what I've heard at all.

Secondly, I've been told that Y&R, are going to do a gay story, and the character in question will be, Daniel.

Do with that what you will - rumour, spoiler, whatever.

I'll see if I can find out some kind of air date.
