Members Cheap21
First Di, now Josh. I wonder which is the next character from MMT's last run that Pratt can bring back to senselessly kill off. Anita, Bobby, Danielle, Jonathan, Ava, Juan Pablo? Members Adam
Too bad he doesn't follow this logic with Ryan.... pretty much all of Megan's pets from 2003-2007 are dead....... And that's what it all comes down too..... it SHOULD have never happened and as much as JHC and Frons would like to pin this all on Megan, they both stood by and let it happen..... so they are all to blame. Members EricMontreal22
Just when I thougth Pratt was doing nothing wrong... SIGH. this makes me sad. I'm hoping for Carlos The worse male actor ever to grace AMC. But I gotta agree--I even agree nearly 100% with Kylie on this. It's a waste--
Members foxhunter
This is vintage melrose-style storytelling (baha, i made a funny). I can't speak for GH, UB, and am not a fan of DH, but when I think of Pratt and think of "shocking twists", pardon the pun, and other innane elements hyper-drama. Things will happen so quickley that you almost forget the story is non-sensicle or underveloped. I predict that he will consider this one of his most compelling story ever. I loved MP when it came out, but when I watch the DVDs it's obvious that stories were never truly hashed out. Extra needs should have been added to give stories deeper levels. Every thing was plot and the women were never eveloped. And the dialogue was pathetic. I sometimes wonder if he'll try to hire Lisa Rinna so that he can create a better Taylor McBride. Oops...I shouldn't have said that. The show will be dead to me if this actually happens.
Members foxhunter
Um, I have to ask, are you really a spy hired by ABC? Or, perhaps you are Pratt himself? I'm on to you...lol.
Members Cheap21
Actually thats already been taken cared of. Carlos was created just before MMT came back and she wasted no time killing him off once she took over...lol
Members Adam
I would do an eyeroll emoticon, but that would send me down to the level of those who I wish I remain superior to. So I'll play along. Yeah, you caught me
Members CassieFan
Am I the only one who thinks that Pine Valley is turning into Pine Cemetery? Geez... just count the deaths in the past 2-3 years...Simone, Erin, Dixie, Richie, Julia, Babe, Di Henry, Hannah... and now Josh and POSSIBLY Greenlee... From that list I approve only Richie's death...
Members RomeAt50
There have been way too many deaths in recent years. Most of them were pretty pointless and/or shortsighted. If Greenlee dies we will have had 5 deaths in the span of less than 6 months. TPTB need to learn there are other ways to attract viewers besides killing people off. The excessive killing is part of what is turning people off in the long run.
Members SteveFrame
I wish Di had not died the way she did, but personally I had no problem with Di dying. There were so many things about that character that never gelled for me. And to me she served absolutely no purpose after it was learned she wasn't Dixie. The big think that I never understood was the way they played her older at first - old enough to be Dixie and be JR"s mother and then all of a sudden the age thing as forgotten and she was running around as almost JR's contemporary - living at Wildwind with all the young folks. To me she was a very secondary character at most. Oh and on the deaths thing you all left off Trevor who MMT gladly killed off and when I complained about that and the way it was done - I was told I was stupid and to get over it. That it made for a good part of the Janet story. Plus you can also throw Noah in there who MMT also got rid of offscreen to facilitate Julia's return. To me characters like Trevor and Noah deserve more outrage than someone like Di or even Josh. I am still reserving judgement on all this until I see it play out and how Pratt deals with it and handles the fallout. This could be some great drama. I have more faith that Pratt will handle the fallout of it a whole lot better than B&E did with Julia or MMT did with Trevor. Just look at the stories that the death of Babe have sparked for David, Krystal, JR and Amanda. If the death is not dealt with or serve purpose for story then I have a problem with it, but when it is used to spark story then I don't. the only real problem that I have with Josh's death is that his heart is used to save Kendall. I am just so tired of the character that I would almost rather see Erica mourn Kendall. As far as the unabortion I hate that it happened and it never should have happened. But the show had 2 ways to go - get rid of Josh or concoct another rewrite of history and undo it. I prefer the first method. It gets more mileage out of the character and can set up some very poignant scenes for Erica and the Martins (hopefully) and it undoes the abortion. I am tired of the rewriting of the history and I would have been very angry at another story just to undo it. It is just like what Sheffer did at Days. Fans cheered when he came on and rewrote history for the upteenth time for Tony DiMera, but it was just so stupid to me. It is time these hacks deal with what is there and go on and quit undoing history to suit fan bases and their own stories.
Members CassieFan
I agree that Di was not a necessary character. However, her death was just dumb. They could easily let her live in NY...With Josh they could rewrite the unabortion, not kill him off. Simone, Erin, Julia = leave town. Babe death was OK, however I am not convinced that she is dead 100 %. I still think she will turn up alive if/when Alexa Havins decides to return...Dixie and the pancakes... don't even get me started on that one
Members SteveFrame
In the world of soaps these days no one ever dies 100% anymore. If they can revive Jesse Hubbard anyone can be revived from the dead. That is why I find the discussion of deaths to be totally ridiculous. Why get so worried about it when no writer has any qualms these days with bringing someone back from the dead which is another reason that soaps have no dignity and are a laughing stock to the rest of the entertainment industry. I would rather hear fans get more upset about the returns from the dead than the actual deaths - or at least as upset. That is what is bringing soaps down but instead you still have fans wishing deaths were undone and people were brought back.
Members brimike
I'm so entertained by what's happening on AMC right now. It's like all the predictions so many made about Pratt signing on are coming true. Sure, there's more stuff happening, and sure, it's a LOT more cohesive. But it's also General Hospital-Lite. Minus the show-saving script writers, that is.
Members David_Vickers
Kinda glad they're killing Josh off. Good riddance to a character that should've never been brought onto the show. That said, Colin Egglesfield is a decent actor and hope he gets another role on another soap soon. I think he'd make a good Joey Buchanan re-cast on OLTL. Members EricMontreal22
Did he die?? I don't remember that AT ALL. I thought it was actually smart of MMT to try to salvage him by giving him a brother though Juan Pablo was only a bit better (at least he was more appealing) I still say letting go of Colin is a huge waste. Yes the character was a mistake as Erica's unabortion but giving Erica a son could be interesting and the actor is appealing and has talent--he really (and yes I've said this before) should be given the kinda role and material Aiden Turner has gotten--someone who has ridden on his charm and lack of talent for way too long.
