Saw it on PerezHilton too. Does NBC even get any ratings in their 10pm spots now? They're ranked 4th. I don't see how things would get any worse. If they're worried that his normal viewers wouldn't follow him to the earlier spot, would they stick around for Conan at 1130 anyway? It's not like the 4.8 million are automatically going to transfer to Conan. If they're going to lose some of those viewers with him leaving completely, why not potentially gain some by moving him to primetime?

NBC is a lost cause, and it's run by idiots who want to be "hip" and "innovative." They just can't see that what they like just doesn't bring in the ratings. I guess the talk of a major executive restructuring could help, but with Zucker still running Universal, I wouldn't be so sure.

And Leno at 10 PM EVERY NIGHT? That's bound to bomb with the stiff competition from CBS and ABC from Monday to Thursday. It can save them money, but I doubt it will bring in the ratings, and especially the demos.

I won't be shocked when NBC is bankrupt and goes under pretty soon.

NBC Universal was up 10% in profits the last quarter of 2007, but how much of that came from the network television division?

The CBS dramas especially will crush a talk show like Leno's every night at 10PM. I just can't see this fairing well demo-wise, which means they'll make nothing in ad revenue from it.

Here's some profit info from an article CNN did just yeasterday, regarding this year's profits, it appears very little comes from the main broadcast network television division, when it used to be a major cash cow for them. In fact, they appear to be LOSING money from their main broadcast network division.

He is right about that. Businesses can no longer do business the same way they've been doing it the past.

Sure ABC and CBS are doing great in the ratings, but they're also making cuts.

I wonder what NBC's schedule will look like next year. I think it'll be something like:

Monday

8pm: Heroes

9pm: Medium or new show

10pm: Leno

Tuesday

8pm: Biggest Loser

9pm: L&O: SVU

10pm: Leno

Wednesday

8pm: Kings (if it's successful) or new show

9pm: L&O

10om: Leno

Thursday

8pm: My Name Is Earl (it'll be their last season to get them into the right about of episodes for syndication)

8:30pm: Amy Poehler's Show

9pm: The Office

9:30pm: 30 Rock

Friday

8pm: Deal Or No Deal

9pm: New Show

10pm: Leno

Sunday (after Football)

Open slots.....possibly Apprentice....or put Kings on here and a new show.

There's also David E. Kelley's new show that you have to slot somewhere.

It's a bold move alright, but it saves them from having to pick up 5 mediocre and expensive pilots hoping that at least one will be the next ER, LA Law, Law & Order or CSI, etc.

Not sure how well it'll do. Time will tell how this goes for them.

    • @DRW50 Thanks for these. I had a procedure on my eyes and was just okayed for limited screen time the other day, but it is in short periods until Tuesday, when the doctor clears me.  I'll be adding in bits here and there, but Hoppers will be "hopping" after that. Upcoming: Rest in Peace, Denise Alexander, Ruth Buzzi and Priscilla Pointer Updating:   Max Gail, @Xanthe -- Will Lyman, who was lost in the shuffle a year ago, but his update from last year will be typed up;  New: Michelle Hurd and Shanola Hampton and others I'll b updating the edit-able profiles, too.

The shoulders and sleeves are too tight. He'd benefit from a larger size. The yellow arrows show where the shoulder cut should actually be placed in my opinion. I don't mind the granpa fashion per se, I just have an OCD with sizes LOL
    • Today May 11, 2025, Pope Leo briefly addressed the crowd in the square.  He sang the prayer to Mary and then said:   Dear brothers and sisters, The immense tragedy of the Second World War ended eighty years ago, on 8 May, after having claimed sixty million victims. In today’s dramatic scenario of a piecemeal third world war, as Pope Francis stated many times, I too address the world’s leaders, repeating the ever-timely appeal: “Never again war!”. I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. May everything possible be done to reach an authentic, just and lasting peace, as soon as possible. Let all the prisoners be freed and the children return to their own families. I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip: may there be an immediate ceasefire! Let humanitarian aid be provided to the stricken civil population, and let all the hostages be freed. On the other hand, I have welcomed with satisfaction the announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and I hope that through the upcoming negotiations, a lasting accord may be reached soon. https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/angelus/2025/documents/20250511-regina-caeli.html
    • Lol! I'm quite sure it would.
    • But that is pretty much situation normal for all soaps. They do not tend to continue to show things like surgical scars. They also play fast & loose with hospital procedures.
    • re: prior two posts about Trump's new opulent plane contrasted with utter starvation in Gaza... Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. This is from Reuters obit of Francis: https://www.reuters.com/world/obituary-pope-francis-shook-up-church-with-simplicity-raising-conservative-ire-2025-04-21/ From the start, Francis sent clear signals to priests and bishops about the type of Church he wanted. He said there was no room for "careerists or social climbers" among the clergy, told cardinals they should not live "like princes," and said the Church should not "dissect theology" in lush salons while there were poor people around the corner. "If investments in banks fall, it is a tragedy and people say 'what are we going to do?' but if people die of hunger, have nothing to eat or suffer from poor health, that's nothing. This is our crisis today. A Church that is poor and for the poor has to fight this mentality," he said early in his papacy. -- Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
    • Co Sign!!!!   I have been watching the show regularly over the last few weeks and am pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to watch each day. This definitely is confirmation for me that Paula and Jeanne wrote the stroke episodes, cause I felt the same way watching those. Could be more exciting for sure, but interactions now make more sense and everything seems to be a bit more character driven which is great. I will add though, there are still about 10 or so characters i'd love to see gone, and hope a few will exit in the future! Otherwise, happy with the changes so far.
