Members YRBB
I have made a few Y&R screencaps and I would love to share them with you all! I'm not sure whether this is allowed here or not, so please move if not appropriate. Hope you all enjoy! A breathtaking Y&R scene from 1975: Phillip announces that he's leaving Kay and that he wants a divorce. Kay is shocked and begs Phillip not to leave her, saying that she stopped smoking and drinking. Phillip's sympathetic, but won't change his mind. Kay is heartbroken and Jeanne Cooper delivers a wonderful, powerful performance. Kay begs Phillip, who feels terrible that she's been brought to this, but also wants to stick to his decision. Kay prays and melts Phillip's heart. Phillip decides not to leave just yet. A terrific, classic scene.

Members Cat
I hope so, too, since I just posted a bunch on this week's discussion thread. Love those caps, YRBB. I remember seeing that episode on YouTube once. Slow and intense. Jeanne Cooper was incredible -- passionate, angry, desperate, pleading. A woman on the edge. those caps of her, especially, show how attractive she was in her 40s -- how imposing an actress. You cannot take your eyes off her! Before "The Tache"... there was Phillip Chancellor!
Members EricMontreal22
That episode is on youtube as a minisode, right?
Members All My Shadows
I believe so. Those minisodes just piss me off, seriously. Why dangle that in front of us and not post the full episodes? I did watch the whole thing when it was up a few months ago, though, and loved it. Loved the Foster family drama. Members YRBB
Thank you MarkH and Cat for your lovely words. For today, a scene from the 90s. Victor is considered dead, and Jack has lost no time moving into his office. Douglas Austin stops for a visit and Jack agrees to let him have some of Victor's artifacts, instead of donating them to the Genoa City University. Douglas notes that Jack is very comfortable there Douglas suggests Jack has some respect for Victor. This doesn't sit too well with Jack: "The man's six feet under, give it up!" Jack announces that this is going to be a new era for Newman Enterprises. He is going to take it to levels Victor never could, and no-one's gonna stop him! Oh, Jack. Jack, at his cockiest best. Members MarkH
Douglas. Sigh. In my mind, he and Sally Spectra are on the Riviera, cavorting in full dress and cocktails every night, delighting one another with ribald tales of past adventures. Members Becki
What an absolutely lovely thought Mark. I loved those two as well...I can almost picture them in my mind doing exactly what you describe.
Members YRBB
A classic scene from the 90s: Jack is feeling all smug as he makes plans for dinner. Then, as he goes back to the desk.... .... the chair starts turning! "What the hell?" And who should be sitting there, other than The Great Victor Newman, back from the dead? Jack can't believe what is happening, and Victor savors the effect he's causing. "You want to touch me?" "Stay away from me! You are DEAD! YOU ARE DEAD!" Victor taunts Jack... .... which makes Jack realize that this is Victor Newman! Victor gives Jack instructions to continue as he has been doing, while he formulates his plan. Appropriately, Jack feels like throwing up: "No, NO!" An amazing, amazing performance by Peter Bergman! Enjoy!
Members YRBB
A few Jessica Abbott screencaps (from the scene were she tells everyone she has AIDS). Guest appearance by John Abbott. I tear up even when seeing these caps... such a heartfelt performance.... Let me know if you would prefer if I did general character/actor screencaps or scene screencaps. Enjoy!
Members MarkH
Well, not only was this photoset terrific, but it made me realize a few things: - Jack has had a problem with "ghosts" and "hauntings" for a while, eh? - More importantly, in these scenes, Jack came across as EVERY BIT the "schmuck" that poor Adam is now. And this, I think, explains why Jack is being so vile to Adam these days. I think, in the end, it is going to be SHARED LOATHING for Jack that brings Victors Sr. and Jr. together as father-and-son someday soon!
