Adam has now been ruined. I think we're seeing a pretty selfish, self-involved, narcissitic young man bubbling up...I'm quite disappointed, because I liked Adam straddling light and dark, and I thought Adam and Heather were remarkable to watch. I am sad if the show squanders their one strong potential new couple.

But on the other hand -- people have been complaining about the show's blandness, happy couples and unwillingness to take risks. The writing for Adam, I find, is very much in keeping with 99% of the investment bankers I have ever met! They are a very particular type and will always be out for number one.

I think setting up Adam as narcisstic and self-involved might be a good way to draw out his burgeoning relationship with Heather. It is the process of learning to care for somebody else more than himself, something he hasn't down since his mother died. The softer side to a single-minded, ambitious, vengeful businessman.

Plus, Y&R needs a black sheep character if it intends to plough forward with its boardroom SLs. Victoria and Nicholas are predictable. Adam is the wild card.

I've actually enjoyed this week especially with less of Victor on, it may not be the best Y&R has been but it's a big improvement over LML's version and I'm going to give it some more time and see what happens........
