August 18, 200817 yr Author Administrator Didn't post yesterday, so I'll post this now - woohoo for Phelps!!! I'm so glad to see history be made! I love witnessing achievements like this. http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TV...Night/800045209 Phelps' Historic Night Gives NBC a Golden Boost Nearly 40 million people tuned in Saturday night to watch Michael Phelps make Olympic history with his eighth gold medal. NBC's prime-time coverage, from 7:30 pm to midnight/ET, averaged 31.1 million viewers, making it the network's most watched Saturday night program in more than 18 years. (An episode of the sitcom Empty Nest averaged 31.4 million on Feb. 24, 1990). From 11 to 11:30 pm/ET — as Phelps and his teammates were winning the 4x100-meter medley relay — the audience peaked to 39.9 million. Thanks in large part to Phelps, NBC is averaging 30.1 million prime-time viewers through the first nine days of the Beijing Games. Now that live swimming is over, and track and field will be almost entirely tape-delayed, it remains to be seen if NBC can sustain this momentum.
August 18, 200817 yr Member Wow, those are impressive numbers for NBC. I just checked out last night's numbers. And they are way down to only a 14.9 rating. I guess people will be tuning in less now that the swimming and most of the gymnastics are over with. Everything seems to be tape delayed and not live.

We get 14 - 15 hours of telecast a day from one channel and about the same on the 2nd channel that shows the Olympic's Between the 2 channels they do try to cram in as much live stuff as they can. And the taped stuff usually isn't that old.
August 19, 200817 yr Member Here is a link the the channel that is showing the oylmpic here. It is their vidoes and I think that there is a pretty good selection (and maybe a little aussie baised) and I think is updated often http://au.sports.yahoo.com/olympics/video/

They printed a lot of Taekwondo ones and we got the gold in that, and there was also anouther event that they didn't expect Aust to get gold in either. Funny enough was that they didn't print very many of the where we were expected to get the gold. Men's under 58kg Women's under 49kg Synchronised Swimming Duet free routine

August 21, 200817 yr Member Aww poor Lolo Jones! Doing sooo well and then hits a hurdle Yeah and the announcer was a prick. Did you hear when he said, "and for Lolo Jones [pause] nothing." That delivery was so cold, but kinda unintentionally funny. Oh and Usain Bolt is my new track & field hero!
