We get a lot of the stuff live here in Australia.

TSN and CBC's coveage of live events are usually good - just the "primetime" hours here will obvioulsy be taped.

You are right those blocks were great and imagine my shock when I saw that there were people inside of them.

I was surprised too.

Just saw the 2000+ Tai Chi preformers and it was excellent as well.

From what I heard many of the big events are supposed to be live at least here in the States.

Beijing is only 2 hours behind us so we will get a lot of stuff live.

The swimming finals are on during my lunch time.

We have a conference room on our floor with a TV in it and a Sports loving boss, so while the conference room is not in use we will be allowed to have the TV on and be able to go in occassionally to have a look and at lunch time we will have our lunch in there.

Yes they were great I was trying so hard to remember how to spell Tai Chi last night I kept on calling it Ti Chi and hoped that someone would know what I meant lol.

I did so love it when they opened up the umbrella's with all those smiling faces of kids on them from all walks of life.

The Opening Ceremony was beautifully done.

I have to agree with you there it was well worth staying up till after 2.00 am for after getting up just before 5.00 am the day before.

SnC, I just saw it on the NBC coverage. :)

It was so beautiful, I had to watch it twice. LOL (though I skipped the Parade of Nations....too boring) :)

Yes I watche the highlights again this am as well.

I have to agree the parade of nations is boring and far to long, there is just to much time between the end of the performance and the lighting of the flame.

Maybe they can shorten the parade of nations by not having so many of a countries athletes in the parade keep the limit to about 20 - 50 athlete's. They can all march and party at the closing ceremony.

I kept on channel surfing during that time.

I really enjoyed the Opening Ceremony. The highlights for me were the little boy walking with Yao Ming-really sweet and the lighting of the torch-that was truly awesome.

I think that it was even better than the Sydney opening ceremony.

Will you guys be getting the swimming final's live?

I think that there maybe a world record in the womans 400 metre individual medley.

There was a documentary that I saw on the Director of the Opening Ceremony. He has designed so many beautiful, i guess you can call them visual arts. His vision is extraordinary. How he had it down on paper and how everything came to be was just amazing. He has designed a lot of other performances in China that simply put, are stunning
