After seeing old videos from the 70s of Y&R, it looked like the Chancellor estate living room was a lot bigger. It was the same set up, but it looked like there was more room, and over the years to its current state, it looks like it has been brought in, making it look smaller.

Must have been due to different camera angles. The Chancellor living room set remains untouched since 1974. You can read in Y&R's Silver Jubilee Encyclopedia that this set was really expensive (they used real silk on the walls apparently) and everyone was so glad that Kay turned out to be pillar of the show and the set has existed for 30+ years...

I think other sets on various shows might be older but they all have been remoled/rebuilt. GH's nurses station would be the eldest, I guess, if they hadn't torn it down twice (once in early 80s(?) and the other in the early 90s(?)).

If they never remodeled the Horton living room, it sure is the eldest set of DAYS and soaps in general.

Days of our Lives

Sami lived in an apartment before she recently moved into the DiMera mansion. Before she lived there, Eric lived in the same apartment. Before Eric, Carrie lived there. It's all been stated that each of the people after moved into the place after the other. So there were references for this apartment.

Billie and Austin too actually. Billie with Carrie, and Austin with Sami. Can't remember if Carrie and Austin lived together in this apartment or in the other one down the hall.

Ohh, and Nicole moved in when she worked for Austin's company. Sami, Austin and Nicole all lived there together, the apartment mysteriously got another room. lol

Then there's the pub set we saw while Bo, Hope, John etc went searching for Colleen in Ireland. It was used in Aremid and for Susan and Edmund when they went into hiding in England and also when Bo and Billie was looking for Georgia (Chelsea) in Austria. Obviously it wasn't supposed to be the same pub.

We had the Blue Note set which has been used for various night club sets through the years.

Maggie's restaurant has been remade twice. One time when Maggie "dies", Bonnie got crazy and went all Western, and later when Maggie got it back she made it classy again. It was referred to the same location the whole time though.

Days of our Lives

Nicole's old apartment became Greta's apartment, but that was referenced as Nicole fooled Greta into buying the place because it would bring up old memories of Eric and Nicole's time spent in the apartment. And then Nicole bought the place back before marrying Victor and moving into the Kiriakis mansion. After they stopped using the set as Nicole's apartment, it got turned into EJ's apartment. Then, for a while there, they used the place as Max's apartment for a quick minute during his storyline with Mimi. That didn't last long at all, and it became EJ's place again. Recently, with EJ moving into the mansion, the set has now become Steve and Kayla's apartment. Someone posted a few weeks ago that there was a mention of Steve getting the apartment from EJ, so that would count as a reference.

Abe and Lexie's house used to be Roman and Marlena's house. The house that Roman lives in now that was seen in 2002-03 is not the same house that he used to live in despite what the writers want us to believe. Again, there was no reference to Abe and Lexie moving into Roman's house that were made on-screen.

Nicole/Gretas apartment was not the same set as EJs. I think EJs was Jonah and Wendys.

The set that was used as Romans house in 2002-2003 was used as Stefanos hideout in 1997-1998.

The tower that Princess Ginas was locked in 1999 was alos used as a set on the DiMera compound in 2002.

The set for Fays house (1999-2001) was used as Bonnies in late 2003.

Kates hotel room in 2002 was Celestes in 2004, Steve and Kaylas 2006-2008 and is currently used as Trents.

In 1997 the Salem Place set was redecorated to look like an italian market during the Rome story.
