Jared has never said he thought Nash was going to hit Natalie. It's a baseless assumption and if you are going to put your hands on someone else, then it's your responsibility to consider the consequences of doing so, which obviously Jared didn't bother to do. He is responsible for Nash's death, no matter what he intended. Maybe Nash should have thought about where he started the fight, but then he didn't kill Jared with that punch either, so it's hardly the same thing.

Well, I know what you mean to an extent, although Clint has certainly directed his anger towards Dorian. I think they will save a lot of this for the eventual Dorian-Viki fallout, which to be honest, I can hardly allow myself to think about ...

... I think it will be the fight to end all fights!

I would like to be the Erika Slezak fanboy for a second and point out what a great job she has been doing. This is a lead actress who also knows how to SUPPORT. Viki has been really fun to watch the past two days, especially when she tried THREE times to stop Jessica from going off today, only to be shot down! I liked when Jessica looked at her the first time and said, "Thanks." LOL. But seriously, Erika has done a great job showing Viki's sympathy for Jessica, while also looking pained at her attack on Natalie. Did anyone else catch her crying when Jessica laid the "trailer trash" term on Nat? Erika is always excellent in these sorts of scenes ... she doesn't try to steal the show. Love her, etc.

I don't think no one is blaming Dorian I think Natalie is just getting the brunt of this because she is family. Dorian always does these kinds of things its expected from her and everyone knows she's had it out for the Buchannans Natalie on the otherhand betrayed her own family and that's why she's getting so much heat. Jared made the family trust him and then he betrayed them; that's a tough pill to swallow. When Clint,Nora, Bo, and Dorian had a scene last week they let Dorian have it and they have every intention of getting the company back and making her pay for what she did. In no way are they letting her off the hook for her role in this and even Dorian's own family is disgusted with her actions.(None of the Cramer women wanted to be on the board of C.E.).

There have been no Dorian/Jess scenes so it's impossible to know how accountable she holds her on the other hand there have been Natalie/Jess scenes because Natalie keeps coming around her. By going to Jess she's opening herself up to being insulted and ridiculed. Jess is grieving and feels betrayed by her sister for not only sleeping with the man who conned her family and inadvertently killed her husband but for getting that man out of jail by blackmailing their father.

I'm surprised that Nat hasn't mentioned that Tess sent Jared to jail for two years when he didn't deserve it. That's the only reason I'm ok with Jared not doing jail time for fraud and involuntary manslaughter. He already did his time and I think if I were Nat I would point that out to Clint.

A baseless assumption? The base is that he had just punched Jared and was waving his finger maybe two inches away from Natalie's face, calling her a whore. If it's preposterous to think that he could have slapped her (or at least pushed her shoulder or something), I'd have to wonder when it would have been appropriate to assume that Nash was violent enough to hurt her.

And Nash should have definitely thought about where he started the fight. He's dead, so yes, obviously he picked the wrong location for a brawl. If they were on a rooftop, would he have decided to fight right by the edge? I'm not denying Jared's part in Nash's death at all, but both of them made bad judgment calls there. Nash's part in his own death should not be ignored. His death was not a direct result of Jared and Natalie's lies. There were many options he could have taken in that situation that wouldn't have ended in his dying. Clint and Bo lost way more than some faux Falcon Crest, but they didn't go after Jared throwing their fists at him. Nash made his decision to kick some ass all on his own and he ended paying the price for it.

It's something that I feel very strongly about and I'm positive that I'll stick with it until the day this storyline is dead and buried. Pun intended.

Quick, and probably dumb, legal question: can the Buchanans charge Jared with fraud again? I mean, since Clint has proven more than once that he doesn't give two shits about Natalie, I don't see why he'd have a probably going back on his word to her and sending Jared up the river. Unless, of course, I'm proving how legally stupid I am and don't realize that you can't bring the same charge on a person twice.

Pushed her shoulder? I'm pretty sure Nat could have survived that, not that I think it's reasonable to think Nash would have done that to his wife's sister. Nash has never slapped a woman and I don't think finger pointing is any reason to think he would have done so. Again, Jared could have easily stepped between Nash and Nat or Natalie could have stepped back if she were afraid, but she didn't look to me like she though Nash was going to hurt her and she has never said she thought that would happen and neither has Jared.

Anyway, I'm not denying that Nash played a small part in what happened. However, it's not as if Nash punched Jared and then Jared punched him back in self defense. Jared had plenty of time to think about what he was doing and the consequences. As far as I'm concerned he bares a lot more responsibility than Nash, since Nash at least had the sense not to punch Jared through a skyelight.

If someone had killed my husband or brother in these circumstances I would expect them to be punished in some way and I think they would be. You can't just go around killing people because they might push or slap someone else. It doesn't matter if it's an accident or not. And I feel just as strongly and will not change my opinion either so I guess we'll just have to disagree.

Yeah.

I don't really mind that she's ga ga over Jared, but I want this to be a story about the sisters, and I want to see more angst from Natalie lol. Not necessarily that she should feel bad about "what she did" forever, but just to see her genuinely upset that her sister, who she supposedly loves so much, hates her. I want there to be enough EMOTION from BOTH Natalie and Jessica that when they eventually reconcile, we will really feel and WANT it.

I also want Viki to have more material that shows her really torn between her daughters and not taking sides.

Huh? I thought Talia had no ties to Llanview. Do we even know who her parents are? I was off-and-on when she was introduced, but there were no ties that I knew of.

But yeah, I agree that she was definitely being forced. The way they handled that whole thing is interesting. Like, how did she get overpowered so easily? And then they sort of left off, and picked up today with her making the phone call.

Julia, I'm kind of confused by your responses. You responded to my post saying you didn't feel Jared should go to jail because he was sent by Tess, but then you responded above saying that you thought he should be punished. I am not attacking I'm just curious about your stance on this and I want to make sure I have a clear understanding of it. What do you think should be done with Jared? Do you think it was wrong for Natalie to blackmail Clint so Jared could get out of jail?

about it I think Jan is a fine supporting part for a solid daytime vet (probably someone from the P&G soaps), as opposed to someone from the production location who is clearly cheaper. Which seems to govern some casting. I get the rationale, but I would start going through the ATWT/GL, etc. rolodex myself.
    • I dont mind Jan. She's good in the minor capacity she is used.
    • tbqh I don't care about Jan, I don't care about Ashley and I think Jon Lindstrom as Joey is an acquired taste. Jon is a great actor but certain things are in his zone and then some are not. Some days I find Joey credible and compelling, but the stuff with him hanging around the Golden Corral, grumbling about Doug and bitching at Randy is not amazing. If he had material on par with what MVJ wrote for Ryan/Kevin on GH back in the day it'd be a different story. I do think he has real chemistry with Vanessa, which is in large part due to MVJ clearly molding that character (and hiring an appropriate actor) in the Lucy Coe vein when she reinvented Lucy in the '90s as well. But I am not here to spend 6+ months watching Jon glower a lot (which is what he's doing half the time to carry weak story) and make more vague dire pronouncements while Jen Jacob gets flustered and weepy over "Daddy" or whatever would come of that storyline. Putting them together sounds like a recipe for doom to me. But I may be in the minority on that.
    • I know this will never happen. But... Halle Berry as Dani Dupree(BTG). She would rock this role, it's in her wheelhouse.
    • When I see how bad the Ashley/Derek scenes are, I know there must be a larger purpose and Joey being her father is the thing that makes the most sense.  My take on it is that Ashley knows Joey is her father but doesn't know Joey. Maybe he was there when she was a child or just not around at all but I believe Jan when she says she didn't lie to her daughter about who her father was. Maybe she left him when she discovered his dangerous lifestyle.  I do think they could really jump start the character of Ashley if they hurry and do this. Jan is a great character and her scenes with Ashley have been helpful. This would further integrate Ashley into the canvas and give her something dramatic to do. With her working at the hospital along with Doug, it could lead to complications if she learns Doug is involved with her father. I just need is sooner rather than later because Derek is tanking her character. I need a distraction.
