ATWT: Discussion week of June 16th

That Reg guy and Luke have a lil chemistry but I'm not seeing the "hot" factor. He looks pretty bland to me. Noah beats him any day of the week in my opinion. Anyways the Luke/Noah drama was well acted IMO. Loved Lucinda and Noah talking. And I loved the classic soap ending with Noah walking in on Luke talking to Reg then rushing out...

I hope we see more of them this week.

Carly and Holden are hot in the "we're forbidden to ever do this" type of way. Its like taboo. You shouldn't but you can't deny that you would if given the opportunity. CarJack was ended a long time ago and I never really thought they were good to begin with.

Then episodes like today give you hope ATWT can find it's way out of this tragic mess. Even the Meg/Paul stuff looks like Shakespeare compared to the Holden/Carly or Nuke stories.

Honestly, my only quibble with today was a kind of minor history point---Kim and Susan's war goes back to Dan, which was at least fifteen years (real time) before Susan's ONS with Bob.

Even PsychoSophie really creeped me out---and I just noticed she's copied Meg's wildly bad mane of hair. Talk about twisted.

Wow..so much Bob, Kim and Susan today. :D And Barbara and Lisa too??:D The Chris and Aaron fight could have been a bit better. Chris has sexual frustrations over Allison. Luke has sexual frustrations over Noah. I am just saying......LOL...They arent related are they?? :D

I effing LOVE the Stewart/Hughes feud! The show should be focused around the relationships between these two families. All it would take is some returns to round out the families to include all generations. I nearly forgot that the Snyders even existed today.

Don Hastings and Kathryn Hays both did damn good jobs getting tough on Chris. He needs it. He needs someone to hand him his ass. Susan going off on Kim and vice versa was awesome.

Betsy would be an ideal return, to give Emily someone of her own age-range to confide in. She'd also be good to mix it up with that 40something group too. Ellen, of course, would busybody herself everywhere. Dani could also come back and steal Casey from her Aunt Emily. That'd be a less-disgusting older woman/younger man romance.

This is going to sound horrible, but I always thought that the Stewart women could use at least one man in their corner too. If Ellen returned, I think it would work if Annie (Ellen and David's daughter) returned with her husband Jeff and one or two of their quadruplets (who, after slight SORASing, would be in their mid-to-late 20s).

See! Returns don't always have to be about bringing back a bunch of old people, as some people like to think!

I agree, Betsy would be a good return. Not only is she Em's sister, she was raised by Kim for years. It would put her at ground zero. Unfortunately, the character's been gone for so long, I doubt many viewers would have a connection with her.

Honestly, I'm blanking on a return that would even make an impact, story or ratings wise. The first one I can think of is Molly, if they can get Lesli Kay. (God knows she's not being used on B&B.) The other is Adam...but they so flucked over his character, it would take a crap-load of rehabilitation.

Honestly, if Adam returned at this point, TAIC would probably continue his spiral into madness.

Today's show was...........hmmm..........are there words?

Bob and Kim are always great to see, and I get that they're trying to help their son, but you would think that after so many incidences between himself and Alison and Aaron..maybe, maybe they would think "Hmm...perhaps Chris did bring all of this about."

Kathryn Hays and Marie Masters are incredibly talented. They make me want to love this show. Too bad the stories don't sell the show for me.

....which brings me to the chaotic Sofie/Meg/Paul/Babs/Cole combo. First off, I didn't think Meg killed that woman by giving her too much of the wrong medicine; I thought it was because she wasn't aware of all the woman's allergies. (But I'm not surprised. TAIC have been re-writing crap left anf right lately.) I also don't think it's a good time for Paul to show Meg he's changed when some psycho is after him and his girlfriend and his mom.

P.S.--I knew they were going to shove Sofie into a freqently-used-psycho-write-off. I just don't understand why the writers haven't led up to her spiraling over a period of time. It's one day: nice Sofie; the next: psycho Sofie. And bringing Cole back? Horse balls. Why would Sofie suddenly confide in someone who made her life miserable, beat her, and then left her pregnant and scared, not giving a damn about her or the unborn child. (Sorry for the rambling, but....) Why haven't Gwen and Will been informed of Sofie's psycho status? You think Babs or Paul might tell them that their baby mama has gone off the deep end. Instead, they send her pictures.....?

See, that's something I've been thinking about for a while now. Whenever somebody thinks about a character returning, they automatically want the character to be involved with certain characters in a storyline or at least for the character to have connections. I don't understand why it wouldn't make sense for characters who've been gone for a long time to come back. They wouldn't have to do some big story for the return...they could merely have the person come home and then the drama would come afterwards. Considering that Betsy grew up in Oakdale, it's more realistic for her to show up now than to have been absent for the last 20 years. They could bring her on and introduce her the same way they'd introduce a new character. Her connections to Emily and Susan would still be there and utilized, but it wouldn't be so much of an emphasis on Betsy, the character, returning to the show. The emphasis would be on Betsy, the person, returning to Oakdale.

If that jumbled mess even makes the slightest bit of sense, I think I got my idea across lol
