Thank God you had the guts to admit that, cause I wanted to ask the same thing and was too embarrassed.....

I have no shame. At first I thought they were just saying Ron's a "9", as in not quite a "10" but very close and they don't mix with "4's". That I understood. It was a rating, like Bo Derek (I show my age, but I've already revealed I have no shame). Then I started to question because I misunderstood the term "family" which at one time I thought was pretty clear, but now I know there are different meanings. I am broadening my horizons on this board. It's a good thing.

High Fives to those of the Bo Derek generation! :D I don't feel like such a dinosaur now.

Re: Bree Williamson's acting last week.

Personally, I didn't think it was Emmy-worthy, but as far as I'm concerned, everybody in the industry would be doing themselves a major favor by not submitting scenes that primarily consist of them crying. Look no further than Tom Pelphrey's legendary "AM I YOUR SON NOW, REVA?!?! URGH URGH URGH!!!" performance. Needless to say, that won him an Emmy (bullshit, if you ask me).

Make no mistake about it, that's not to say that I was disappointed in Bree's acting last week. I actually thought that her losing her mind and going slightly crazy was the exact way a wife would act when, within hours, she loses her husband, the father of her (soon-to-be) two children. Screw toning it down! You be a young wife who loses her husband within hours and show me how cool, calm, and collected you'll be.

Granted, I've never been in the position either, so that doesn't make me one to judge how she should react, but seriously. Seriously. I think it would have been horrible if BW "toned down" Jessica's reaction to Nash's death.

I agree actually that it wasn't Emmy worthy. However during the toned down scenes at Llanfair with Viki (and even her lashing out at Natalie), that was Emmy worthy; not her shrieking and screaming at the hospital. IMHO.

I agree. I had no problems at all with the way Jess acted at the hospital...it was expected. But that's not the type of stuff you should submit for the Emmys. It's too stereotypical and too...I don't know..."obvious." I can think of several young women on soaps who would have acted the exact same way if their husband had died. There was nothing unique or special (but there shouldn't have been, so Bree did it right).

The scenes with Viki showed the emotions of a young wife losing her husband while also showing facets of Jessica's character. If Bree submits anything from that week, it should be the scene where she's talking about how Nash died on little Bree's birthday, with the whole thing about the balloons and the cakes and stuff.
