I would agree IF they told a rape storyline, but they didnt. Hogan used that ngith as a plot point to get heroine sami to get prego by ej. she changed long before that tho. she became the saint and heroine brady. she became carrie. sami was stripped of everything that made her sami.

and the moment hogan left she got it back.

An update:

Head Writer

Nancy Curlee

Breakdown Writers

Frederick Johnson

Trent Jones -> he's not on my team, replacing him is Sara A. Bibel*

Michael Minnis

Rex M. Best

Scriptwriters

Beth Milstein

+ some others when I figure them out :D

Story/Creative Consultant

Jerry Birn (he's 85, I think, I don't know if this could work)

* I like her more every day. She writes fluently, and I don't know why, but I was pleasantly surprised to see her talk about Sophocles' in her previous post; some writers wouldn't know Greek tragedy if it hit them with a brick.

^Sara's also written scripts, so she's not just a breakdown writer. But I personally wouldn't trade Trent for Sara, though I like her. I know experience means nothing to you, but Trent has that and has worked with greats like Claire Labine, Pam Long, Nancy Curlee Demorest, and Bill Bell.

Oh, and I thought I told you that Nancy was now going by Nancy Demorest. ;):P

Trent is a great writer, and has Co-HW experience at Y&R. His years as Kay and Jack's Co-HW are considered by many to be Y&R's best years post-Bill Bell.

I see what you're saying though. Look at Megan McTavish, who has trained under Pam Long, Agnes Nixon, and Wisner Washam. How can anyone be that bad having worked under those people?

There's a certain high-brow quality to the Dobsons writing, which I think would work on Y&R. Their writing style can also be melodramatic and campy, some core elements of classic Y&R. They wouldn't be too bad a fit, I'd think.

However, If I had it my way, the former GL writer we'd get would be the sensational Nancy Curlee Demorest, if she ever chooses to grace daytime television again.

    • I think Dani cares about her sister, but I agree with you. She's using this whole mess to be heard and make herself feel better. I wish Ted and Eva told her to fck off. I had to laugh when Dani commented on her and Anita confronting Ted. She acted as if they destroyed him. That's not what I saw. Dani has been dialed back from those first weeks, but I can't say she's likable. As long as she's throwing shade at Eva for her work as a hairstylist -- while ignoring that she did nothing except eat celery sticks and walk the runway -- she can kiss off. Barely tolerable, and Lindstrom is terrible in the role. I don't find him scary at all, and his money laundering plan is stupid as hell. I gagged when he texted Vanessa to ask if she was thinking about him. That's throw up time.   I just don't see how that makes Ashley any more interesting. And are we really asking for another storyline where a father connects with his adult daughter? I know there's no direct parallel to Eva's story, but come on. If you're in the minority, I'll join you. I have zero interest in any of that. -- I still fail to see Nicole and Vanessa as best friends. Nicole is grounded and stable and responsible, and Vanessa is not. It made more sense to have Dani and Vanessa being close. -- Ashley and Derek were actually OK today. I feel sorry for the actors, honestly, because they've been given nothing. It's crazy, because so much of the rest of the show is firing on all cylinders.
    • Same. But given how the writers like to have her have good moments and bad moments...and Dani has been background as of late...it's about time she had some bad moments.
    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
