Can someone answer me this: Why, WHY, when you have the #1 soap, and STEADILY at that, do you EVER get the impression that you need to mess with its formula, style and writers and make it into something that it isn't? Because that's so gonna make the ratings go up? WHY?????

I used to think Y&R was immune to that, and it was, but not any longer. It seems that Y&R has now entered the phase that AMC, ATWT, DOOL, GH and GL have been following for years: Endless changes, on screen ones and behind the screen ones, that only manage to make thing worse and worse and worse.

When e-commerce drives story (like it did/does at ABCD), story suffers. I have been watching this Restless Style countdown for months...so I knew this was coming.

I applaud them for trying to find new ways to make $$. But not when it hurts story.
