I wish DVR viewing was counted.

DVR viewing is counted in the ratings if it's a Nielsen Household. SON reports Live and Same Day Ratings which to my understanding means if the show is watched on the DVR within 24 hours of being recorded than it is counted in the numbers reported here (if it's a Nielsen household).

I read that ABC takes into account the ABC soaps on Soapnet and factors that into how well they are doing as a whole, even if daytime ratings aren't good.

ABC doesn't count Soapnet in the ratings. They can't. It's two different networks. And as somebody said last week (I'm paraphrasing) advertisers looking to buy time on ABC don't care about SoapNet's ratings.

There is something of a we can do it even better mentality that is going on with cable as well as a we are so out of touch with our audience we have no clue what we are doing thing. I notice it with both Food Network, HGTV and Soapnet. I was in a city that was part of the test market for SN. It was great and I got hooked early. RH was a particular favorite. I later moved to a different state and not only paid extra to have access to SN but added an entire tier of service simply to have access to one channel - SN. For years it was kind of a default but not any longer and at this rate I am moving towards dropping it because the reasons for my interest are pretty much non existent.

I also wonder about the effects of reality tv and poor tv programming in general. I think the last time I watched something on one of the networks at night was a Brothers & Sisters episode at the beginning of last fall. Their programming just doesn't hold the appeal that it once did - for me. It's not like my tv is on any less, it is just on other things.

You know I'm getting rid of the tier that has soapnet on it too The only reason I got that tier was because of soapnet and once Forbes is gone there won't be any reason for me to watch soapnet anymore. I've already told them to drop the tier at the end of this billing cycle. It will save me something like $6 a month.

Thanks. He's not mine. I gacked the icon from somebody on LJ. I couldn't resist. So much cuteness mixed with an understated viciousness.

AMC has been better somewhat, but the show as a whole hasn't been all that great. They've just traded Babe is love for Greenlee is love, and until that stops, the show ain't gonna be better..........

PREACH it Sister PREACH it!

I'm sure Zendall fans are dreading what's coming up for Kendall in a few weeks?

She's going to be down on her knees begging meanlee for forgiveness!

Also what's the deal-eo with Zach being Mean's sidekick?

Get the girl a gay sidekick or bring back that puppy she used to have , that's if she's didn't eat the poor thing!

Southofnowhere

Plus with what's upcoming: ANOTHER story about Ryan's bodily fluids, like 3 damn years wasn't enough of that.

So AMC doesn't deserve good ratings till they write CONSTANT good stories

Comments

Once again The View is ABC's flagship show

GH is down week-to-week in total 18-49's

GH continues to hold under 3 million daily viewers

OLTL is stable

AMC is about to receive an overhaul with numbers like this - lack of a rank

I am really starting to worry that affiliates are going to start dumping AMC or moving it to the morning like what happened with GL. :( Is that possible?
