Martha Byrne, James DePaiva, et al. Set for Engeman's Other People's Money

By: Dan Bacalzo · Apr 14, 2008 · Long Island

Martha Byrne and James DePaiva will star in The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport's production of Jerry Sterner's Other People's Money. Directed by Michael Licata, the production will run May 1- June 1.

The play, which tells the story of a corporate raider who must decide between his next big score or the beautiful Wall Street attorney who stands in his way of getting it, won the 1989 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off Broadway Play.

The cast will also feature Wilbur Edwin Henry, Mitchell McGuire, and Neva Rae Powers . The design team will include Court Watson (set), Michael Zecker (costumes), Jen Schriever (lighting), and Katherine Miller (sound).

Byrne is best known for her 20-year stint as on CBS' As the World Turns, for which she won two Emmy Awards and garnered nine Emmy nominations. Her prior stage work includes understudying the title role in the original Broadway production of Annie. DePaiva is best known for portraying Max Holden for nearly 17 years on ABC's One Life to Live.

I hope so, I would love to see her on OLTL.

OLTL is already tipping the scale a little too much on the hefty side.

 And what so wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with it at all. It's been the most realism they've had to offer. But they've done their time with it in the latter part of 2007 with Marcie.

Viki, Natalie, Marcie, and now we need another plump one? (not to mention Bo and out of shape men like John) Like I said. OLTL does them well but does not need another.

 back at you
