Members Ryan
That's an alliance I'd pay to see. Hogan's realism balancing out JER's camp. But who would be the EP? I have a soft spot in my heart for JHC, but she's gotta go.
Members sungrey
My god, guys! AMC fans are already up in arms over Brown and Esensten. Do you want them to torch the New York studios?
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I don't even know if Hogan and JER can balance each other out.... Both have a tendency to burn out very fast, don't use a majority of castmembers, and write very weak female characters. JER can be good if balanced out. I mean he had Curlee, Demorest, and Broderick at GL. The fabulous Springfield blackout in 92 was his idea, and that was written wonderfully and in traditional soap opera mode. The thing is, I don't think either Sheffer and Reilly's forte is "traditional," something a show like AMC needs.
Members Sylph
I forgot to add that Maria Arena is a different case - her family owns (partly) the show and I'm not yet sure whether she is a temporary head writer or if she will stay for the long-term. However, she can choose and when she exits, I believe it will be her decision. She won't get fired. Hogan is not so lucky. I believe he will never be head writer again. If I remember well, he said he liked writing breakdowns, so probably that's the most he can get. On the other hand, Toups said that soap operas are eliminating the position. Do the maths. Members AddictedToSoaps
Yikes. I'd rather have McTrash back than have them.
Members dragonflies
Bite your tongue Mr. I disagree, I think he is a million times better than B&E, heck at this point I think JER is as well. Revisit the show's history? Maybe(they've also rewritten it)
Members juppiter
I think ATWT will try to get Sheffer back. .... unfortunately...
Members JackPeyton
i hope no other soaps hires him. they may as well bring on JER, McTrash, and LML. But then again Days does have DH so... idk why some writers are not just banned from daytime all of the above need to be.

Administrator Toups Posted March 27, 2008 Administrator Share Posted March 27, 2008 Reilly's pretty good when he's starting at a new soap. First time at GL - awesome (from what I hear) First time at DAYS - best ever! First couple of years of PSNS - pretty damn good Now that he's had months off from writing PSNS and time to rest (for the first time in 17 years), I've love to see what he can do at a soap he's never written for. Members JackPeyton
thats a HUGE problem. almost every HW is great when they start. its down the line... 6months laters, 1year later, etc...
Members DevotedToAMC
Sorry but I found his first time at DAYS to be overrated. He dragged out stories worse than McTavish did and the possession story was one of the worst, cheesiest, and cartoonish storylines written in all of daytime dramas.
