I know this is a UO, but I don't get all the hype about Ron. So far I haven't seen anything great on OLTL that he's done. The show is so boring. Sure it's alot better than when Hackley was writing for the show.

What am I missing about RC? LOL

I thought it was confirmed that his new material isn't going to show up till April?

You know what OLTL needs? A STRONGER EP! Frank Valentini just isn't cutting it, and I think he might be the factor that's brining the show down in some respects. A strong EP can help the writing and make the actual scripts better. Much like Julie Hanna Curruthers at AMC, I don't think Frank has much vision for OLTL, despite working in various capacities for the show for years.

Then again, all of the ABC soaps are in dire need of a new EP as well...

But all the ABC EPs are figureheads, so does it really matter who they are? Even Jill Farren Phelps is pretty much powerless, although she got a little more power while Guza was out.

Well, Angie, you have to give Ron some credit...he is not writing for the show that has the biggest ahole in soap history on it (Ryan Lavery) ;)

I love Tomlin as an EP, but not so much as a writer. I love what Ron did with Viki/Charlie in Paris, TX but I so do not like what Tomlin is doing with Viki/Charlie. They've lost their romanticness about them, and so I'm hoping that once Ron was back, he put that back in that couple.

I agree. Viki/Charlie lost their romance, Gigi lost her charm, Talia and Antonio lost everything... it sucks.

I just had a scary thought. What if Gary Tomlin was the PERMANENT head writer? The show feels like it was punched in the gut since he took over. Now that the strike's over, is Tomlin going back to being a breakdown/script writer? I sure hope so...

Funny, I felt this show was a punching bag for years. <_<
