February 25, 200817 yr Member The show is too long. But isn't it always. I think "No Country for Old Men" is going to win it all. Edited February 25, 200817 yr by KSlater

February 25, 200817 yr Author Administrator Congrats to the Coen Bros!! They have 6 total Oscars between them. Amazing. I really like NCFOM until the ending - I didn't "get it" and thought it was boring. I thought Jon Stewart did a really great job. I love his humour.

February 25, 200817 yr Member I'm watching E! post show...they are showing press room interviews...Marion sung a little for them...she gained a fan in me tonite also
February 25, 200817 yr Member So the strike ended for writing like THAT. Impressive. Not one American got an Oscar for acting. Hmm. At least the producers got over themselves and gave the winner from "Once" another chance to speak. The half hour red carpet show has to go, because obviously you can see the same thing on E! earlier. That way the awards can begin earlier too.
February 25, 200817 yr Member YAY!!! I am so glad that Marion Cotillard won Leading Actress in "La Vie en Rose". That movie was so awesome and what's more embarrassing is that I was actually crying in the theatre in the end. So, you're figuring that when you're bawling your eyes out, they'll dry up as soon as the credits are done and over with. But NO!!! They stopped rolling the ending credits and they turn the freakin lights on!!!! That's great news, and I wanted someone to win for Michael Clayton. I thought that movie was fantastic as well. I watched bits and pieces of it last night. Hey! I can't miss my Rock of Love 2 with Bret Michaels and I don't care if they show it again the next day or the next! Then, I had to watch Dexter, so I was constantly changing the remote channels. I like the Academy Awards but it's just one of those award shows where it just drags on way too much and it seems like everyone's stiff. Congrats to all the winners! February 25, 200817 yr Member I am bummed that Cate Blanchett didnt win any of her categories. Thought she would for sure win Supporting Actress at least. But oh well...her wins come in the form of her double nominations this year. Proud she was at least recognized. Since Michael Clayton recieved alot of nominations..i guess they had to win at least one. Not sure it had to go to Tilda. *rolls eyes*!! I also though JUlie Christie was gonna pull off the win. But happy the Academy awarded someone new. Its great to see new people win(except Tilda..LOL) and spread the wealth around a bit.
February 25, 200817 yr Member Did you see Cate Blanchett's reaction with Marion's name was announced? She was tickled to death.
February 25, 200817 yr Member I am still scratching my head as to how Marion beat Julie Christie.... Julie's performence in Away From Here was the most raw and real performence I have seen in all of my movie watching.... I guess I'll have to see La Vie On Rose for myself now....
