So, recently some people have been in an uproar about Amy Winehouse winnign the gramms. Now lets put aside if she should have won or not based on ig you like her or not, and lets discuss if she should have won or not based on her personal life. Some people have been saying that she should not be rewarded because shes in rehab and has a drug problem. So what do you think?

I personally think she should have won. The grammys are not given out based on personal life, nor should they be.

what do you think?

Amy Winehouse is a great singer and songwritter and whether she is a drug addict or if anyone is for that matter shouldn't be considered when giving out awards. Only the damned talent. I think Amy is on her way to recovery. She did wonderfully on the Grammys. In fact her performances was one of my faves of the night. This year's Grammys was awesome and the best Grammys in quite awhile.

I actually think that she won BECAUSE she is such a tabloid headliner. Not inspite of it. Quite honestly I can't believe that she swept the grammy's and won all of those awards. "Rehab" is not so great to win both Record and Song of the Year. It's laughable that it did. But then again anything that doesn't let the public vote on musical quality is always iffy with me. I also think it's insane that Milli Vanilli won several grammy's their first year while Madonna had to wait 15-16 years before she was awarded just one especially when alot of the artists that won those awards in her category won it making the music she defined from her very first album.

    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s, because when Rita was accused of killing a patient when she lived in Texas, part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • Thank you. She’s disgusting.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
    • Be glad it wasn't a Perry production.

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
