October 1, 200817 yr Member I don't know much about Ifill to say if she's biased or not, or whether she will be. I don't think, however, that it's out of the question to at least question what's going on with the book.
October 2, 200817 yr Member Anybody see those voting numbers posted by CNN? McCain's only voted this year 39 times, Obama 70 something, and Biden is way up there.
October 2, 200817 yr Member Does anyone have a link the the SNL clip of Palin and HRC. Thanking you in advance.

October 2, 200817 yr Member http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/vid...ry-open/656281/ Thank you for that. That was funny I am amazed how comedians can keep a straight face at times.
October 2, 200817 yr Member Honestly, This whole thing is coming across as making an excuse for if Palin doesn't perform well tomorrow. Because you can't say "I'll get back to you on that" during a debate.
October 2, 200817 yr Member Does anybody know where to find the vote for the Senate? Like the members who voted which way?

October 2, 200817 yr Member You know.... if the word "Obama" wasn't in the title, I wonder what other horseshit some people would dream up to hind the FACT that...... SARAH PALIN SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN PICKED AS JOHN MCCAIN'S RUNNING MATE! And to those who kissed her ass and his ass after she was announced, trying to make people feel like WE were the ones who were stupid and didn't get it....... I find it LAUGHABLE that she couldn't come up with one other Supreme Court decision that she agreed with, amoung many, many other things she dropped the ball on. (P.S..............she could have said something about the Exxon Valdez Supreme Court ruling.......especially since.......oh, I don't know.......She put a statement out on it when she was Governor disagreeing with it).
October 2, 200817 yr Member I guess, you could have pointed out that Republicans as recently as 10 years ago claimed I could have, but it's not necessary because we were discussing Democrats, not Republicans. You stated that bigots don't vote for Democrats, which is basically, as far as partisan political statements go, a big steaming pile of untrue poo. It's obvious that bigots can be found in every political party, in every walk of life, in every country, city, and neighborhood in the world. A sad but true fact.

It's obvious that bigots can be found in every political party, in every walk of life, in every country, city, and neighborhood in the world. A sad but true fact. Well you don't get to define what I was talking about and to twist what I said in order to do so. You also were very selective in parsing my comments, obviously to pick a fight. "We" were not discussing anything. I was discussing with other posters and you swooped in days later and left a misleading and selective post. In fact, you did the same thing just now. You pulled one line out of a post and responded. You wanted to pick a fight. You got one. Both of those posts clearly pointed out that Republicans were not bigots and both dealt with historical trends. Of course, you were not interested in "us" having a discussion. Nor were you interested in having a conversation about the topic, You picked a fight and you elected to be dishonest in the way you did it. You not only were selective in what you decided to make mention of, but you chose to ignore the entire context of the original post. You also chose to ignore a followup conversation dealing with whether bigots would vote or not. The post was written in response to a survey of whites refusing to vote for Obama because he was black. Your effort was to pick a fight, and it was also to be misleading. Edited October 2, 200817 yr by Jess
October 2, 200817 yr Member On Gwen Ifill. It appears the Rs are once again making excuses for any weaknesses on Palin's part. If they don't think Ifill, ask the commission to replace her. All aspects of the debate are decided by the candidates. What it appears they are trying to do is cast the debate in doubt if Palin flops and to try to intimidate the moderator into asking softball questions. It sounds like the book is about the emergence of African-American candidates. I does not sound like it was any secret she was writing the book. Also, I assure you there are journalists writing books about this campaign as we speak. The fact she is writing the book is known. If McClain/Palin do not like it and are concerned, seek another moderator. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20081002/D93I484G3.html Edited October 2, 200817 yr by Jess
October 2, 200817 yr Member I called up Charles Henry, who teaches African American studies at UC Berkeley. In 1983, he was the first to measure the Bradley effect. Yes, perceptions of race are changing, but still, for Obama now, as for Tom Bradley then, Henry calculates that it will take "a double-digit lead to feel confident come election day." It grieves me to say so, but he may be right. Good polls don't change bad attitudes. If America 2008 hasn't changed much from California 1982, by next year pundits will be calling it the "Obama effect." Revisiting the 'Bradley Effect' - Patt Morrison, Los Angeles Times
October 2, 200817 yr Member I really hope Obama/Biden come out on top.... So I don't have to hear this stuff again. There is more excuses being brought up about Obama than there are in the fact that McCain's campaign stinks right now and the voters see that.
