Members Roman
Oh, I can say it. This proves black americans are not so stupid that we vote for someone based on their color or race. Some of us are very ignorant, but that stupid? No. Let's look at President Jesse Jackson's admin., or President Al Sharpton's admin., or President Alan Keyes's admin., or President Douglas Wilder's admin. for proof of that. Members Wales2004
Sing it with me now.....I see your True Colors shining through....but I'll love you anyway because I'm better than that. It's obvious which candidate you're going with so the rest of that ditty about the man who was never general is like wah wah wah.

Members Roman
*** Fools rush in: Over the past week, independent analysts and news organizations have criticized -- deservedly so -- the falsehoods and misleading statements from McCain’s TV ads and remarks on the stump. But now the Obama campaign has unveiled a whopper of its own by comparing McCain to Rush Limbaugh in a new Spanish-language ad on immigration. "They want us to forget the insults we've put up with, the intolerance," the ad’s announcer says, per the Washington Post. Then a picture of Limbaugh appears onscreen with quotes of him saying, "Mexicans are stupid and unqualified" and "Shut your mouth or get out." The narrator continues, "John McCain and his Republican friends have two faces. One that says lies just to get our vote and another, even worse, that continues the failed policies of George Bush that put special interests ahead of working families." The big problem with this ad: McCain and Limbaugh don’t agree on the issue of comprehensive immigration reform. It’s a pretty low blow, particularly since McCain did see his campaign nearly die because of his support for immigration and the attacks he was receiving on the right from Limbaugh and other talk radio conservatives. Then again, the McCain camp and RNC are airing radio ads blaming Obama for scuttling comprehensive immigration reform because he backed “poison pill” amendments. But that’s not true, either: The GOP base killed immigration reform, not some amendments that immigration advocates also supported. Completely unecessary and low brow. There is plenty of material to rightfully hit JM on without resorting to doing the same crap he has done. This ad needs to be pulled and this needs to not happen again from them. Apparently you didn't read this. And question, Casey. When have you said anything remotely negative about McCain?
Members Roman
Then why don't you stop doing it Casey. As far as SP being the presidential nominee.......maybe someone should have told her that yesterday when she said what would happen in a "Palin-McCain Administration". Guess she didn't get the memo. Members Wales2004
I don't compare Palin to McCain. I address the issues of the day about Palin. It's already set in my mind that McCain made a poor choice and Obama made a good choice in running mate. I have no need to compare her to any of them since she's a singular threat by herself. Thank you for making my point about how the Obama supporters on here have criticized some of Obama's decisions while McCain's big supporter here hasn't and that is one of the reasons I stopped reading Casey's posts. It may seem unfair that I don't respond to anything Casey says directly but c'est la vie. Being a POW doesn't make one fit for the presidency. I can almost see the argument that he was a general and so....but he wasn't. Obama wasn't in the service and it's obvious why he couldn't have been a POW when McCain was. None of the recent presidents were either. I take offense at Obama's ad because I don't like to see people manipulated or lied to. I wish he had not done that. Pointing to what the other guy has done is not any sort of justification whatsoever. I hope this is an aberration on his part and on the part of his campaign. Because life goes on, I still see him as the better candidate. I still believe he'll surround himself with top notch advisers overall. I still believe that he has the more unique gift/ability to bring the country together. Working across the aisles is not the measure of the ability to not be divisive for which I'm looking. I'm looking at the ability to interact with and properly recognize the diverse group of people that make up this nation. I don't see that quality in McCain and I certainly don't see it in his party. Abraham Lincoln has been dead a long time so please with that....
Members Jess
I'm so fortunate to have employed the ignore feature. I don't miss hearing about the offense of the day. Roman, you beat me to the punch. I came over here to post the latest Washington Post truth test. You beat me to it. One thing I'm happy to see is the media no longer playing into the Daisy Ad technique. Did you notice the Post called it a video news release, pointing out that the ads don't always appear anywhere. You did criticize the Obama ad and say it was sleazy, as did I. But I don't see any reason why you or anyone else, should have to post anything you do not want to post. It's not like you are a reporter.
Members George008
I've had several critiques of McCain. I have said I disagree with him on immigration, McCain-Feingold, and McCain-Lieberman....

Members George008
I love the fact that I am being "ignored" now, when you posted a reply directly to me earlier.. You guys are so open-minded...and fair..Its too hard to debate..so you guys get rude, and don't like being called on it...Get over yourself Jess. talk about the issues here instead of other posters... And before you have the chance of saying..."Did I say your name, Casey"...because you are too afraid to openly admit that you are singling me out...Who else post the offense of the day ?? LOL, LOL... Members Jess
I was wondering that too. The part about blinding ambition is not unique to her in the world of politics.
Members Wales2004
I don't know about the blogger part but the other things attributed to her are as true as whatever is true today is. She did try to soften her position on global warming just a tad bit which seems more politically expeditious. There is evidence that she tried to ban the book about a boy having two dads and I'm not up on the polar bear thing because I'm not sure if it was inferred from her wanting to drill in a specfic area where it would affect them and/or if she wanted them pulled from the list in order to be able to pursue the drilling. I'm practicing sloppy information passing techniques today. Oh I should thank Jess and Tishy for prompting me to learn a couple of things today--Daisy Ad and burca.....so thanks for that!!! Members Jess
She did oppose designating the polar bear as an endangered species. Sorry Wales: The Daisy Ad was an ad that LBJ ran against Goldwater in the 1964 campaign. It was unique because it ran once (I believe during a Monday Night football game, but I'm not certain about the venue). The media then ran it non-stop through the remainder of the campaign, giving the Johnson campaign the leverage sought from the ad without paying the price. It's very similar to what McCain did with the ad asking why Obama did not select Hillary as his running mate and also the lipstick and the pig ad.
