Nothing you've said changes the fact that the media coverage is biased and ridiculous.

Most of them just latch on to the first stupid thing they hear and repeat it over and over as if it will make it credible.

I don't care for the media even though I listen and watch. I am more keenly aware of their efforts to influence the public instead of reporting facts (excluding those who are paid to give their opinions). I don't need to hear Charles Gibson whining over McCain's fund raising disadvantage or Tom Brokaw making it seem as if being a POW makes it that a candidate is excused from running a mature campaign, being attacked on his political stance, and from saying anything than promoting war.

When the media does decide to report facts it's the kind of nonsense that isn't going to do anything for anyone. Are the columns that important? People are better off watching CSPAN and skipping the crap unless they can put it in its proper perspective.

The point I was making is this is ABSOLUTELY the first time EVER that I have heard of a "right-wing" bias from the national media! Are you kidding me? ABC and NBC are now conservative networks! No way!

I never said there was no bias. As a life long Republican I have grown very accustomed to left leaning bias.

I was pointing out the fact that bias was never mentioned until Obama began to be vetted by the media in recent days. It is completely understandable. He is on the world stage this week. He is running for the most important job in the world! For one to expect him to be exempt from scrutiny is asinine. To be considered a reputable media outlet you must point out the shortcomings and strengths of both sides. Obama supporters seem to very very touchy when it comes to any hint of negativty towards Barrack. On the other hand any positive spin what so ever on McCains accomplishments is totally unacceptable!

The Obama propping over Clinton, during the primaries, was fine to his supporters as long as Obama benifited. You can't pick and choose your acceptance of media standards if their common practises begin to differ from your beliefs.

And today on Fox News....

I loved the PBS coverage. Good call South.

And yes Canadians will most likely be going back to the polls, because our PM is a stupid prick. Why he was elected in the first place? No clue, and low turn outs.

BTW it was a very well done speech. I just hope this is the beginning of positive change for Americans.

"You know...this country of ours has more wealth than any nation. But that's not what makes us rich. We have the most powerful military on earth, but that's not what makes us strong. Our universities and our culture are the envy of the world, but that's not what keeps the world coming to our shores. Instead it is that American spirit. That American promise that pushes us forward even when the path is uncertain. That binds us together in spite of our difference. That makes us fix our eye not on what is seen, but what it unseen. That better place around the bend. That promise is our greatest inheritance.

It's a promise I make to my daughters when I tuck them in at night. And a promise you make to yours. A promise that has led immigrants to cross oceans, and pioneers to travel west. A promise that led workers to picket lines, and women to reach for the ballot. And...it is that promise that 45 years ago today, brought Americans from every corner of this land to stand together in a mall in Washington before Lincoln's memorial to hear a young preacher from Georgia speak of his dream.

The men and women who gathered there could have heard many things. They could have heard words of anger and discord. They could have been told to succumb to the fear and frustrations of so many dreams deferred. But what the people heard instead. People of every creed and color, from every walk of life is that in America our destiny is inexplicably linked. That together our dreams can be one. 'We can not walk alone,' the preacher cried. And as we walk we must make the pledge that we must always march ahead.

We cannot turn back. America we cannot turn back. Not with so much work to be done. Not with so many children to educate. And so many veterans to care for. Not with an economy to fix, and cities to rebuild and farms to save. Not with so many families to protect and so many lives to mend. America we cannot turn back. We cannot walk alone. At this moment, in this election, we must pledge once more to march into the future. Let us keep that promise. That American promise. And in the words of scripture, 'Hold firmly without wavering. To the hope that we confess.'

Thank you. And God bless you. And God bless the United States of America."

A great, historic night indeed. Great speech by Obama. I think he hit it home tonight. He re-affirmed his policies, his stands and attacked McCain from a defensive position. He made 29 specific policy changes. Who took on John McCain? He did. Go Obama!
