March 22, 200817 yr Member I wonder why his stint at B&B didn't work. But I don't believe Bradley fired him, he probably exited on his own accord. ITA. He got to write the freaking fabulous Betty White episodes and a Xmas show and swoosh he was out. There's no way Brad sent him packing. Wonder what he's up to these days - he's a fabulous and needs to come back to Y&R or B&B for taht matter. Maybe he already did during the strike, since the dialogue moved 1000 leap years in positive direction, who knows. *prays*
March 22, 200817 yr Member Well, if Maria doesn't bring him back, no one will. Does anyone know where does James E. Reilly live? At least the state? Toups?
March 22, 200817 yr Member Jim Houghton is a fabulous writer! If he wants to work Y&R should pay him whatever he wants, I loved his stuff on B&B and his years at Y&R are invaluable.

March 24, 200817 yr Author Administrator I heard a rumour that GH will be eliminating the breakdown position too, making it the 4th soap to do so. Michael Conforti wrote today's script. He's usually just a breakdown writer. I'll keep an eye on the credits to see if this turns out to be true or not.
March 24, 200817 yr Member I heard a rumour that GH will be eliminating the breakdown position too, making it the 4th soap to do so. Which soaps are eliminating the breakdown position. So far, I only read about AMC doing it. Thanks
March 24, 200817 yr Author Administrator Which soaps are eliminating the breakdown position. So far, I only read about AMC doing it. Rumour has it that DAYS, AMC and GH will follow in GL's footsteps. So far AMC has one writer credited for the episode writer (the name after Beall, Walsh, Beldner), and now GH had Michael Conforti listed twice (he's in his usual breakdown writers credit, and again above Elizabeth Korte's name meaning he wrote today's script). No credits for DAYS yet.
March 24, 200817 yr Member So only Y&R, ATWT and OLTL will be left with the breakdown writers? I think that position was invented somewhere during the '88 strike so that the Guild create more job positions for its members... I believe Claire Labine said it in an interview... But I could be wrong. I just know a famous HW mentioned it somewhere... Edited March 24, 200817 yr by Sylph
March 24, 200817 yr Member A breakdown position is not really needed. Maybe a less bloated writing staff will serve the shows better. So far all the decent writers are back at AMC..... I am waiting for the likes of Taylor and Bugler though to reappear any minute. Michelle Patrick= AMC's next headwriter (at least in my world)
