Well, this is what I was waiting for! For a great scriptwriter there are no such limitations. You just have to be able to assimilate a variety of styles and be at home in every one of them. So this just proves my point that he isn't all that much. What sort of a great scriptwriter need a certain type of characters to be great?

Who knows. Maybe it's not in the breakdowns and maybe Brad Bell doesn't want his characters to be witty/smart? B&B is not known for it's great characters or wonderful dialogue - I rarely read anything about it of all the years I've visited message boards.

I can acknowledge that some people think very high of him, and there were script I liked that he wrote. Yet, to be called the greatest scriptwriter of all time? That seems exaggerated.

I can't think of anyone else who's better and over a long period of time. :) When I say "all time," it does come with a bit of exaggeration. ;) I'm just going by reputation and what I read on message boards (especially the old ones like rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc or *.cbs, or *.misc).

It's not known for its excellent dialogue. I've never heard anyone praise it either. No wonder the show has been recycling the same stories for decades now when it has been written by these same people, Bell frineds (Best, Kelly and so forth).

And B&B doesn't have episodic outlines.

I wouldn't dare to call anyone "best scriptwriter" (of all time or currently).

I just don't see the greatness in Patrick. f_neam_95be845.giff_pardonm_71c74aa.gif

DAMN! I saw Guza's name back in the GH credits today. :(

I knew it was coming but...ugh.

With Mulcahey, I find he's best when he writes stand alone episodes. Like the Capwell dinner party on SB or the Election Day episode on GL. Both of which are on youtube btw. :)

GH:

- Michael Conforti last listed as Writer on March 14

- Garin Wolf last listed as Interim Head Writer on March 14

- Garin Wolf back listed as Associate Head Writer on March 17

- Michael Conforti back listed as Associate Head Writer on March 17

- Dave Goldschmid back listed as Associate Head Writer on March 17

- Elizabeth Korte back listed as Associate Head Writer/Script Editor March 17

- Robert Guza Jr. back listed as Head Writer/Consulting Producer on March 17

Guza's back!!!!! NOOOO!!!!! :(

Of course Korte is writing this "special" script - her first since February 20, 2006. <_<

And of course Guza's comes back with an explosion!

The only good thing about Guza is that he will keep the team intact. When a new HW takes over (eventually...), I'm afraid he/she is going to fire some of these talented scriptwriters. And that freaks me out.

Agreed. It's not like these script-writers are specifically FOG (fog? I mean "friends of guza"), for the most part. They are GH SCRIPT WRITERS, first and foremost. I would hate to see another head writer come in and do a mass sweep because they have the wrong idea.

This is very mean of me, but if Latham is taking over on some ABC soap, I'd like it to be AMC. Her Port Charles past is making me anxious and that show's connection with GH. In an attack of madness, Frons might hire her.

GH team is perfection (sans Guza). Sure, maybe that can add Kate Hall or Joanna Cohen, just for flavour, but it would be overkilll. :P

Korte needs to go along with Guza, she's nothing but Guza #2 IMO....

I wouldn't fire her. Don't know why. :P

She definitely needs to be demoted when/if Guza is fired. I like Korte as a script writer.

Don't do anything to Korte!! OK, she can be demoted, but I wouldn't fire her.

BTW, does anyone know how old is she?

You can find (copyrighted!) photo of Elizabeth Korte here.
