This is juicy. Can't wait to hear if this is a true demotion and, if yes, why it happened.

Does anyone know a contract anniversary date for Hamner, adding in the WGA-strike-extension as a possibility?

Since Hamner was identified as "Mr. Mystery" by LML ("General Homicide!!"), and since the show experienced a crime spike after he joined (Nazis, Carmen Messta, Plum/Carson, JiMin, and lots more I'm sure I'm blocking on), well, I've mentally pointed my finger at him as the biggest source of ruination of Y&R.

Note my picture and my opinion of the crime spree in GC :-).

I'd be happy if this demotion was part of encouraging him to leave early, or at least signalling the non-renewal of his contract.

I hope so too. Hamner may speak highly of Joan Collins (which could put anyone in my good books)...but he's a truly atrocious daytime writer. It is clear that he was demoted to make rom for Hogan...hopefully he'll demoted further (ie the unemployment line along with LML's other primetime hacks!)

Toups, I seriously hope you will anounce some good Y&R news in June. That is, Maria running with scissors and trimming the team.

Thanks, Rain! Wow, you are fast. Maybe a little too fast. If you continue to out scoop me, I'll have nothing to tease the regulars of this thread. LOL ;)

I think you and rain1 make a fantastic team! It's great to see two (and possibly more!) people posting scoops, it's somehow more dynamic then when one person does it. :D

Yeah, true.

Rain1, next time you have scoops, post a tease first, so we can get people guessing. :)

Teases like this:

2 Writers OUT at CBS

1 Writer IN at CBS

HHS is not a huge to AMC.

Shes only been there for 4 months.

Heres to hoping Michelle Patrick and Karen Lewis comes back to AMC. PLEASE! PELASE! PLEASE! :P

Seeing as Patrick left GH when Pratt was there, I don't see it as being likely that she'd come back to AMC, even if her alleged problems were with Guza.

The Karen Lewis shipped sailed a long time ago. Didn't someone mention she was ready to leave the business?

And was independently wealthy. Thus probably with no incentives to come back. I think it was Megan who lured her to stay this long, since she wanted to retire a while ago.

    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
    • Oh, wow... where can I find this interview?
