YES!, and YES!!

I doubt either will stay for very long, but it's always good to see some of my all-time faves on OLTL.

Now, Frank (and Gary), about bringing back Shelly Burch (Delila) and Brynn Thayer (Jenny)....

Let's see how much I remember about Pamela.....She came on in mid 1985.

Pam was married to Asa, who she thought was sea captain, 'Jeb Stuart". Pam lived on the island of Malekeva. "Jeb" would drop in on her from time to time. Their marriage took place while Olympia was still alive, making Asa a bigamist. Subsequently, his marriages to Samantha, Delila and Becky were illegal.

Unbeknownst to him, Pam found out about Asa's real identity, and tricked him into renewing their wedding vows on her "deathbed" in Malekeva, thus legalizing their marriage. Asa was very suprised then, when Pam showed up in Llanview, very much alive and ready to assume the role of Mrs. Asa Buchanan!

Pam was very naive, and fell for Mitch Lawrence's phony evangelical activities, and staunchly defended him, causing friction in her marriage to Asa. She found comfort in the arms of Pete O'Neil, whom Asa hated (natch!).

Malekeva was ravaged by a volcano eruption, and Pam left Llanview with Pete and Asa's divorce settlement money to rebuild the island that she considered her home. Pam left the show in mid 1987. She was never heard from again until she appeared for Asa's last phony funeral.

I have read that Bo tracks Pam down in January. I suspect that he is investigating Jared. Jared's age means that he was born around the time (in soap years!) that Asa and Pam were married. I imagine Bo wants to question Pam about whether she has knowledge of any affairs Asa may have had around that time!

Wasn't Jenny killed off screen back in the late '90s when David Renaldi briefly returned to Llanview just before Michael Zaslow's death from ALS. It seems to me like they said she was killed in an avalanche in Switzerland or somewhere. But then again, soaps have perfected the art of bringing characters back from the dead.

I think so too....and in my opinion the chances are even more likely with Ron Carlivati and Gary Tomlin aboard the writing team, both of whom seem very loyal and devoted to the history of OLTL.

It's sad when you think about it.....it has been 11 years since the character of Tina has even stepped foot in Llanview. Just imagine all the stuff she would have to catch up on.

about it I think Jan is a fine supporting part for a solid daytime vet (probably someone from the P&G soaps), as opposed to someone from the production location who is clearly cheaper. Which seems to govern some casting. I get the rationale, but I would start going through the ATWT/GL, etc. rolodex myself.
    • I dont mind Jan. She's good in the minor capacity she is used.
    • tbqh I don't care about Jan, I don't care about Ashley and I think Jon Lindstrom as Joey is an acquired taste. Jon is a great actor but certain things are in his zone and then some are not. Some days I find Joey credible and compelling, but the stuff with him hanging around the Golden Corral, grumbling about Doug and bitching at Randy is not amazing. If he had material on par with what MVJ wrote for Ryan/Kevin on GH back in the day it'd be a different story. I do think he has real chemistry with Vanessa, which is in large part due to MVJ clearly molding that character (and hiring an appropriate actor) in the Lucy Coe vein when she reinvented Lucy in the '90s as well. But I am not here to spend 6+ months watching Jon glower a lot (which is what he's doing half the time to carry weak story) and make more vague dire pronouncements while Jen Jacob gets flustered and weepy over "Daddy" or whatever would come of that storyline. Putting them together sounds like a recipe for doom to me. But I may be in the minority on that.
    • I know this will never happen. But... Halle Berry as Dani Dupree(BTG). She would rock this role, it's in her wheelhouse.
    • When I see how bad the Ashley/Derek scenes are, I know there must be a larger purpose and Joey being her father is the thing that makes the most sense.  My take on it is that Ashley knows Joey is her father but doesn't know Joey. Maybe he was there when she was a child or just not around at all but I believe Jan when she says she didn't lie to her daughter about who her father was. Maybe she left him when she discovered his dangerous lifestyle.  I do think they could really jump start the character of Ashley if they hurry and do this. Jan is a great character and her scenes with Ashley have been helpful. This would further integrate Ashley into the canvas and give her something dramatic to do. With her working at the hospital along with Doug, it could lead to complications if she learns Doug is involved with her father. I just need is sooner rather than later because Derek is tanking her character. I need a distraction.

    • The stories are awful. I'm not enjoying any of them. All I'm left with is Sally in a plastic dress.

    • lol. But...SAME. in Mona's 'Good' voice.
    • I loved your rambling because you had some good thoughts.  Stopped watching Y&R years ago so can't comment on that, as far as Lame is concerned. No cares in the world.
