Members JackPeyton
if this is true it will be such a fail. when are TPTB gonna fire them?
Members Greg's GL
That's a good question, Jack. Over the course of the last 3 years (with few exceptions), Ellen Wheeler has proven herself to be completly inept at her job. And DK has all the writing skills of a third grade elementary school student. IF that rumor is true, it would be a horrible horrible reveal. Worst than Signey Coleman as "Annie" from B&E, IMO. But I don't think that TPTB have any inclination of getting rid of this team. I was afraid that their Emmy "wins" last year would somewhat validate them with TPTB and it appears that may be what is happening behind the scenes. Members RoseVioletDaisy
I know that EW and DK are complete hacks and they seem bound and determined to pair Harley with Cyrus and we know that Harley only gets involved with Spauldings, but for goodness sake, this is so ridiculous that it sounds like really bad fan fiction to me. Even the most basic timelines of the characters don't match. Cyrus was stealing his way across Europe with Dinah at the same time Phillip was in Springfield, onscreen, married to Harley and having an affair with Beth. When Phillip was in Springfield, onscreen, juggling Olivia and Beth and then having a nervous breakdown, Cyrus was in prison in Spain. Even though Phillip's been missing for almost two and a half years now, Cyrus didn't get out of prison until March of this year. That's only nine and a half months. Plus, if Cyrus were Phillip: Why would Phillip's first order of business when returning to town be getting revenge on Dinah, his own cousin? Why would Phillip care or need to steal money from Matt and Vanessa? Why would Phillip marry his own aunt, Alexandra, no matter how platonic the arrangement was supposed to be? Why would he then steal from her too? Why would Phillip fall for Marina, his ex-wife's niece, and then become totally obsessed with finding her after she was kidnapped when he hated the Coopers by the time he left town? Why would Phillip be so nice to Harley? He hated Harley when he left town. Wouldn't he use a disguise to get close to her and then take Zach? He wouldn't be coddling her through one panic attack after another, especially since he hadn't even been able to control his own. Phillip was severely claustrophobic. He would've lost it being tied up in that church and then trapped under the rubble. As bad as this show is and as desperately as this regime is trying to glom onto Phillip's memory, I just can't believe anyone capable of breathing would be dumb enough to pull this. Members Greg's GL
Brilliantly put, RoseVioletDaisy. Let's hope that if this lame idea is floating around in what DK refers to as his brain, someone somewhere will mention to him the exact same things you have posted above. Members AddictedToSoaps
Hahaha now that is hilarious!! I think that's a little farfetched even for EW/DK but who knows!!
Members Dan
Not that I wouldn't put anything past them, but I agree. This does sound a bit too ludicrous even for those two morons. Granted, every time I think they can't get much worse, they always find a way to surprise me... Wow. Two Anti-GL posts in one day. I must be bored... Members Kwing42
Hey Dan, please pass along the article or source you have where GA said those specific words. Thanks!
Members Dan
Considering that Wheeler unceremoniously fired Grant and the way that the character was written towards the end of his tenure, not to mention the veteran discontent on the show, I think its fairly obvious that Grant won't be returning anytime soon. Also, there was that SOW article that alleged that Grant was a diva behind the scenes and that two of his leading ladies tried to get him canned. Especially considering how many times they have tried to bring him back and have failed. This is, what, the third "Where's Phillip?" story that they have done since 2004, right? They obviously want him back, but he isn't biting (and, quite frankly, I don't blame him). The same way they wrote a story centering around an absent Ed, yet failed to secure Peter Simon for the appearance. My source is DK and EW's continuous lack of planning throughout their tenure. DK even said that he no longer has to write a longterm outline for P&G. And that, my dear friend Kwing, is documented. Check the post a few months back on the WGA conference in NYC. Members Vee
It seems clear they barely plan, yes. Just a few months ago Olivia was pining for her rapist and FauxDylan was pawing Harley. Now it's all about Olivia/Gus and Harley/Cyrus.
Members ian
If Cyrus turns out to be Phillip that'd just about put the lid on the jar... I don't think even GL could pull that off... but don't forget the Reva clone and San Cristobel. However, if he is, I'll never ever buy it.
