Any word on who's scrabbing [sic] at All My Kids?

Who else but Fronsie's chief consultant and drinking buddy, Megan McTavish?

I hope you guys are enjoying Evil Wes now, b/c he's gonna suck once he has his brain tumor removed.

I haven't lost respect, per se, for Griffith and Tomlin, but I do believe going fin-core will hurt them in the long run.

I know Tomlin has a long background writing in soaps, and I like him as an EP, but I felt what he did at OLTL in terms of HWing with his cohorts was largely a disaster even though we had some fun. I'm very concerned about what he will do to the show if he is full HW and I don't like him going fi-core.

Just heard about another writer going on financial core and coincidently it's another ex-Sunset Beacher - OLTL's Gary Tomlin!

More names are going to be released soon........

This comes as no surprise. Roxy fans will be happy.

On the other hand, he truly loves OLTL. LIVE WEEK was a stroke of brilliance.

But, do we blame that on Tomlin, or do we blame it on Tomlin working with Christopher Whitesell? Recent misses aside, Tomlin has proven himself to be a capable, if not exactly visionary, writer. Whenever Whitesell has assumed duties beyond that of an associate/breakdown writer - at OLTL, ATWT, GH, and SuBe - he has been a complete flop.

I tend to think whatever problems OLTL had in the writing department during the Tomlin/Whitesell/Broderick era rested primarily w/ Whitesell, and his inability to be anything other than crass and campy.

Latveria. Fictional home of Doctor Doom!

I know for a fact she is watching anyway. I think I can see her.

Tomlin loved camp, though, and fervently championed stories like Todd's infamous "dead baby lie", the gross Antonio/Liz babyswap story, Nora and Troy, the endless Summer of Niki, etc. He made it clear he was very involved and loved the stories and took a major hand in their creation. It's fine to do humor, as he did, and as Ron Carlivati is doing, but with Carlivati's humor I don't feel the show is being aimed at grade schoolers. I feel confident there will not be a story in which, say, Rex lies to Adriana and says their baby is dead, and is then haunted by visions of a Mariachi band chasing him around chanting "el bebe! el bebe!!"

He did some great things and was good for the show as an EP and morale man, but his creative vision sucked. The best idea he ever had - full-on Gay Rex, balls to the wall in terms of content - never saw fruition.

Pre-Frons network micromanaging comes into play as well. The "Rex is gay" SL was given a lot of web saturation and ended up being scrapped.

Okay. I will openly blame Tomlin for one thing, and that was Teddy Sears. Just what the heck was that closet queen doing on the show, anyway?

Teddy Sears wasn't even the biggest problem. Gary kept the show stocked with hot guys, but often at the expense of much else besides camp, camp, caaaammmmppp!!

I like GT a lot, I'd love for him to be EP now, but only if he kept his hands out of the writing. That was his undoing. An enthusiastic man with good ideas and terrible writing instincts. Even the stories we remember enjoying were just not terribly well written at all.

I feel a lot of what we saw from GT was hastily constructed plan B stuff.

But that Gilligan Todd, MaryAnne Tea and Hunky Hairy Chest Guy location stuff was awful.

So bad after the Emmy and LIVE WEEK.

So he wasn't Olivier.. and he's hardly the first closet queen to hit daytime. I thought he was more than capable when he stumbled upon mini-skirted Niki Smith guzzling beer to the tune of "It's Raining Men"

"Mrs. Davidson? Are you having a nervous breakdown?"

Yeah, I know, TS wasn't a big deal. Still, he bugged me, you know?

I'd understand if he'd had the kind of airtime a DUD like Michael Easton has.

Much as I support the strike, I hope Tomlin can throw John McBain through a few unexplored hoops... or just show him in something other than black. If he must be aired 80% of the time, dress him in green and make him a tree.

I don't think ME will be here after next summer.

Unfortunately I am also hearing Susan Haskell returning might be a done deal, so what better way to appease the great Michael Easton than saddling another actress with his "greatness".
