The lighting seemed slightly different on Friday, too.

Well, we had different camera angles and an emphasis on flowers yesterday. If that isn't an influence of Ed's, I don't know what is  .

Wasn't some stuff reshot, too? I'm confused if they say that Ed Scott's stuff starts on Aug. 29 if that is when the reshoots started or when him being there from the beginning began.

That means nothing. I mean, if it was clearly stated that he doesn't come onto the set until August 29, why is it even in question?

Perhaps we're all just seeing what we desperately want to see.

He officially started working at DAYS on August 6.

Okay, and DAYS is usually on a three week taping schedule? Correct me if I'm wrong.

He officially started working at DAYS on August 6, so if DAYS pretapes 3 weeks in advance, the 29th sounds about right.

That's what I thought. So maybe we're just seeing what we want to see, and hoping that's different. I will say that SFX being gone has to be because Wyman has left the building and Corday was pretty much controling the day to day production until Scott arrived on set.

I hope to God that with Wyman gone, and Scott in, the SFX are gone FOREVER.

I think (not sure) that it's gone already. Not only did Friday's episode have a different feel to it, but no SFX at the end. I could be wrong though, we could see from time to time until Scott's name appears in the credits, but it's a sign.

Some stuff might have been added or reshot. His first WHOLE episode might be August 29. He could've been influencing things already, much like B&C wrote an episode that was tossed in the middle of Langan's stuff in 2002.

Just comparing Thursday to Friday...it's clear something is different. The fact that we had some of Ed's staples in the episode tells me he was involved in some way.

But my question would be, wouldn't flowers and camera angles be more of a director's job, not so much a producer?

Yes, and those facets were apart of Y&R before Ed was even EP and after 2001, when Ed vacated the EP position. Unless, Ed sent out instructions to the director's prior to his first day on set.

The producer creates a certain style that the director follows. When directors jump from show to show, they pretty much follow the show's format set by the producer.

That's what I thought. Those things were always part of Y&R's trademark, so Ed Scott coming to DAYS wouldn't necessarily mean that we would be getting all of Y&R's trademarks.

OK I didn't notice any stylistic changes so much in Friday's ep but the clips I saw of Monday's ep just looked VERY different to me so I guess I can see what both of you, Drew and PR, are saying.

As far as the pan up when Stefano did that laugh sitting in the hospital bed, I remember a similar shot when John came out of his coma and Marlena and him kissed so I'm not sure if that was due to Ed Scott or the director.

But the flowers thing has been noticeable so I just don't know.

I don't really remember the flower pot thing. I wasn't paying much attention to a lot of Friday's episode, not that much to notice little things like that. I'll be looking much better this week.
