I hated how they showed Sami pointing the gun at Stefano in the previews. Damn previews show way too much. From now on, I'm going to switch the channel when they come on.

I liked how we learned a little bit more about Jeremy. Hopefully we'll learn more about him and get a backstory.

Ugh! I hate Shelley Henning and cannot express that enough. I just imagine how these scenes could be with Shayna in the role and it makes me so mad. Shayna had spunk and if they would have just wrote Stephanie the right way in the beginning, we may still be in a good place.

As for the whole "Poppa" thing, every time I hear her say that, I'm with Josh. I want to puke up everything.

Today the board is acting wonky for me, so I have given up on the quote feature.

Phoenix, I also think that Shelley held her own in extended scenes with Nichols, and that that is quite a feat. Stephanie is written as a delusional twit, but that is not the fault of the actress. (Drew, I liked Shayna, and I could see Shayna Rose as a race car driver, but not a stewardess with more hormones than brains.) The way Stephanie kept countering Steve's arguments against Jeremy with stories from his past with Kayla? Guess what, kids do that kind of stuff all the time. The difference between the duos is that there was gold in Steve for Kayla to mine, in Jeremy there isn't. Stephanie will find that out the hard way, but that doesn't make her a worthless person.

DaysFanJean, Sami being helpless and hysterical does not play to Sweeney's acting strengths. When Sweeney acts opposite Scott, it is at an entirely different level in part because Sami doesn't have to stroke his ego or play dumb. I am not even looking forward to today's episode. The previews gave away that Sami pulls a gun on Stefano and Joe isn't going anywhere, so the only question is who pulls the gun out of a weeping Sami's hands? EJ, Lucas, or Marlena? Hogan needs to read Sami's bio. If Sami could use a gun to make her first rapist sing soprano, she could pull the trigger on the man who has killed her father yet again (only in Salem), no problemo!

I loved Marlena telling Belle to get a job. That was the most that I have liked either character in ages!

What really bothers me the most about Belle is that her family is also rich and she use to work at Basic Black and live in a loft that belonged to her father. I wish the writers would remember that. Living with Philip after what he and Victor did is so ridiculous - just to pimp a way over (or at least it should be) triangle. Sami and Lucas should also work at Basic Black. Or did John sell the company while he was in the coma?

that makes 4 of us! I don't dislike the actress, just how they are now writing the character - what they have done to Stephanie is deplorable. I did like Shayna though especially at the end of her run. Don't mind "poppa" as long as it is only once or twice an episode but not every two minutes!

    • I absolutely loved the last few episodes—devoured them! If Trisha and Ambyr’s performances aren’t Emmy-worthy, I don’t know what is. I wasn’t bothered by the lawyer girl not being at the gala from the start, or the grandkids being absent, or Vanessa being MIA. It just goes to show how unnecessarily huge the Dupree family is. And like Toups said, you can’t cram the entire cast into a single episode. Oh and the cue when Leslie was having that fantasy was epic, very DAYS-like. They should keep it and develop it   Minor nitpicks: Yeah, Ted seriously needs a recast—been saying that since day one. I still don’t know where he stands, and he just comes off as a generic nice guy. Not having Ted and Bill share a single scene since the show started? Huge missed opportunity. And not having Leslie get anywhere near Bill in one of her wigs? Another big miss. It really weakened the impact of her big reveal about Bill’s involvement. Now it just feels a bit like fan fiction. I’m totally confused by Vanessa and Doug’s “arrangement.” One moment it seems like they’re in an open relationship, and the next Vanessa acts completely shocked when Doug so much as hints at her “distractions.” Huh? Can anyone explain what’s going on there?
    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
