Wednesday's show was ho hum for me. I put it in the category of hopefully wrapping up storylines that have already gone on too long.

I've just gotten back into OLTL again starting last week. I've stopped watching this for months...so I pretty much missed most of Todd's kidnapping and the OPP storyline. What is that made the OPP SL so terrible. I"ve heard so many people diss it. And how did Evangeline end up in the coma??

And how did Evangeline end up in the coma??

Well, Cristian started to paint again... and invited Evangeline to see his painting at the studio. When they got there, the painting and studio were destroyed. They suspected OPP was involved, and called Talia to investigate. So, she and Nora were to the studio to look for clues. In the mean time, OPP gased the place with carbon dioxide. Evangeline happen to be near it, and passed out... then Talia, Nora, and Cristian did too. Bo rescued them, and got them all out... but everyone work up, except for Evangeline (who inhaled the most and was out for the longest). She was rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered that she slipped into a coma... and was quickly ushered off tv.

Yes...and Lindsay dropped by to see Cristian's new artwork right before all this happened, and was hit on the head and knocked out before she could enter his apartment. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Good summary, BTW. :)

I don't know that it was terrible. Rex and Adrianna annoy me. I didn't watch it because I just didn't like the story. It started out one of the Higley slooooowww stories peppered with a lot of offensive jokes and comments. Then it took on the personaity of one of Malone's mysteries that you could tell were being rewritten by the moment. I stopped watching because I just didn't like it. It's hard to place a finger on exactly why. It's just a storyline I didn't like very much.

The OPP story is typical Dena nonsense, where she pulls the implausible, off-the-cuff twists in order to be 'edgy and unpredictable'. I'm not exactly a racist group expert, but it doesn't seem Dena is one either. For an identifiable national racist group around for over 15 years, this group was remarkably ill organized or cohesive. Why would they start in Llanview by framing an unemployed hispanic artist-cum-boxer? Or torching then barely respectable mobster Vincent's buildings? Tate's earlier rather obvious pursuit of Adriana and agreement to model for Layla/Adriana's company makes little sense as well. It really looks like a retrofit story, like so many have been - and in many ways a summer retread of last year's summer Adrianna is stalked storyline.

Thanks everyone for filling me in. How did the OPP storyline really start. I'm curious about how they introduced the storyline. And The OPP framed Cristian how?

I'm trying to remember. I think Vincent was a bad guy at the time. Now he is a good guy I think. He owned some property that got torched. Cris was suspected of doing it. Vincent's lawyer held a new conference accusing Bo and Asstonio of protecting Cris because he was Antonio's brother. Then some of Antonio's property burnt down. I think it was property he got from his drug-dealing daddy. When that happened they decided it wasn't Cris.

I believe Evangeline was involved in all this because she and Cris was romantically involved at the time so she also was accused of covering up for Cris. She was Nora's assistant.

Oh, now I'm happy about Thursday's show. David and Viki are friends again. That is about all I watched, but I did enjoy it. Maybe Asa will give David a few million dollars now.

I was so happy to see Viki forgive David, and I loved that David didn't want to lose their friendship or how Viki had become to look at him, a decent man. Those were some great scenes, but all the scenes with Viki and David are always great. Hopefully to see David return one day to Llanview.

re: the scene with Cole and Matthew. You know you have a problem when you're being out-acted by a 10 year old.

The OPP storyline went off the rails so fast I don't even know what happened.

Is Ron Carlivati here yet?

  • Member

Ron is here. This stuff is his work as Co- Head Writer. He said in one of the Mags that these are Dena's stories and a little bit of his influence is being seen on screen.

  • Member

Well, if this is Ron's stuff, then they need to hire some new directors, script writers, and actors to fix things up a little bit more. It's not that the stories themselves are horrible, it's the presentation. It's trash.
