ABC Renews According to Jim

A.J. Frutkin

JUNE 28, 2007 -

As expected, ABC has renewed its long-running family sitcom According to Jim for a seventh season.

Due to extensive negotiations regarding the series, ABC did not announce Jim when it laid out its fall schedule for advertisers in the spring. But following a successful close to those talks, the Disney-owned net has ordered 18 episodes.

Starring Jim Belushi as an oaf-of-a-dad, Jim is produced by ABC Studios and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Although Jim has never been a star player for the network, it has proven to be a consistently modest performer. And with ABC placing its bets on several unknown comedies next season--Cavemen, Carpoolers, Samantha Be Good (formerly Sam I Am)--Jim could play a key pinch-hitting role if any of those series fail to draw viewers. In fact, Jim stands as the network's only multi-cam sitcom next season.

LMAO. Why? It's not a good show! If that's the case, bring back Less Than Perfect!

I was wondering the say thing...this show was not that good, but it was better than Rodney. Now that show stunk.

It's amazing that networks renew shows like this, but cancel shows like Reba. All the more reason to hate the broadcast networks and switch to cable.

You and me both...I so miss Reba. It was ten times better than most of those crappy ABC comdies. According to Jim should have been cancelled a couple of years ago.
