Y&R Breaking News: Recently Vacated Role Recast!

This just in...

Earlier today, I reported on Adrianne Leon's sad revelation that she was abruptly fired from her role as Colleen Carlton on The Young and the Restless.

Well, the CBS sudser has just issued a recast announcement!

Australian actress Tammin Sursok is the new Colleen. Sursok's first tape date is Tuesday, June 26. She will first air on Monday, July 30.

The 23-year-old Sursok is best known as Dani Sutherland on the long-running Aussie soap Home and Away. She won Australian TV Week's Logie Award for best new female talent in 2001.

The Y&R folks seem fond of casting Aussie suds stars these days. FYI, Daniel Goddard (Cane) is also a former Home and Away castmember.

WTF did Leon do to piss them off, I wonder?

You don't always have to do anything to piss off anyone on the set of Y&R; especially when you have someone like Latham running things... Latham changes actors likeshe changes bath water...

She gained weight.

Adrianne's figure was what I thought made her best suited for the role, she looked like the daughter of Traci and Brad.

Leon had gained weight recently because of medication she was on which is why she posted that "been there for me through thick and then (pun intended)" comment in her blog when she announced her firing.

Hmm...interesting choice in hiring a foreign actress to play Colleen.

Clips from Home and Away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8APqq_uvGq4

And of course she's a soap star who sings (ala Delta Goodrem and Bec Cartwright):

Oh LORD! I bet they're gonna whore Colleen now ala Stephanie on Days.

I'll give this Aussie girl a try, but I still miss Leon.

I'm pissed....

Did you read Leon's other blog where she says she was banned from participating in any Daytime Emmy activities this past week due to "security issues?"

What the hell?

Just Latham's way of trying to show that 'she's in charge...

If William Bell Jr is in charge, I think he should use his power to do some serious spring cleaning...

WOW...I'm shocked. The tragedy of it all is that BOTH girls are BEAUTIFUL in thier own ways. AL was very fierce, vivacious, and had the curves to make any man swoon.

And this girl is more of the model. The classic frame and build. Shes slim and dropdead sexy.

I still think that Y&R and whoever is behind firing AL is pretty pathetic.
