DAYS: Who is Sophie DiMera?

I don't have to ignore anything, LoL.

I can handle SORAS as long as they make it at least somewhat sensible. All it takes is five minutes of research and a few little dialogue changes and everything would be fine. There are people who have jobs at the show specifically for things like this, to make sure that the details in correlation with history are correct -- that's what they're there for! Then there's the scriptwriters, who should check on these things before putting it into the dialogue.

Fixing it would be as simple as this...

EJ: "I have so many childhood memories from this place. I come back here sometimes to feel closer to my family."

Instead of that line, change it to...

EJ: "I've seen so many pictures of this place, I almost feel as if I grew up here. I come here sometimes to feel closer to my family."

Such a tiny little change that has the same impact story-wise and it still maintains at least a little bit of a sensible timeline. Why can I do this for free and the people getting PAID to do this cannot? WHY?

Cuz so many of the older writers were fired and replaced with n00bs when Sheffer took over.

I just pretend Days ended with Marlena's funeral in 2004.

Well, IMO, Days pretty much ended when JER came back. He pretty much killed the show which had been dying since Higley was writing.

Kenny I didn't say you had to ignore anything. I said I just think the logistics are going to be screwed up no matter what. Alot of soaps do it. Many TV shows so it. Yes, a simple change like that is easy but maybe there is a reason why they wrote it that way. Who knows. As long as the story is good and entertaining and there isn't a major re-write (such as a long estabished character's backstory or the like) then I'm fine.

To each their own.

Well, in Hogan's defense, the Days writing team needed to be flushed out, badly. They've always had a problem with getting details of history correct, but at least with this writing team we get a little good dialogue with the incorrect history! LoL

Oh, I didn't mean for it to come off that way. My sarcasm was aimed at the writing team, not you.

It's fine, Kenny.

I didn't want anyone to think it was coming off that way anyway. The fact is after I saw Hope be pregnant with Zack for like 11 months, I learned never to buy into Days and timelines ever again

Ordinarily I can overlook the historical changes for the greater good of current drama, as well. But now they're screwing with MY favorite stories, and it's harder to swallow this time around.

How does DAYS recruit its writers anyway? How does one get a job as a writer on DAYS? What qualifications do they require?

A wide mouth and warm saliva.

Ha, ha, how dare you use sarcasm when answering Mr Rudolpho Meradi? I unfortunately already have Bart for that.

Anyway, I really hope this "Sophie DiMera" does turn out to be a significant person. Showing her name like that without having any purpose with it would be really unnecessary.

I disagree. JER wrote the last great epic Days story--the Salem Stalker.

Yeah... and look where that story led us to...

When Reilly took over, he didn't care what had happened during his 6 years away. Sami became a 16-year-old brat with mommy/daddy issues again, Celeste became a soothsayer with spastic orgasms whenever she had a premonition, and all characters were too busy trying to catch a killer to actually mourn the deaths of their loved ones.

And the serial killer storyline... what exactly can we call it? Salem Serial Killer? Salem Stalker? Or, as Nicole Walker once said, Salem Serial Stalker? Unfortunately, we were never given a set name like Salem Slasher or Riverfront Knifer.
