Jill and Kay should have never been made mother and daughter. If Latham wanted to take the bull by the horns and instead of dreaming up this plot driven angst that is Cane, she should have undid Jill being Kay's daughter.

Amen.

Looking at the demos which count the most for the network, Y&R has stemmed the steady decline under LML so she isn't going any where any time soon. If LML can give more emotional payoff and give us a break from Brad, the show would immediately improve.

ITA. Y&R leads all of the demos except for 2 if I'm not mistaken, including the all important 18-34 demo. Until Y&R takes a significant hit in the ratings, LML isn't going anywhere.

If LML can give more emotional payoff

That's the thing.

She can't.

She's totally incapable of doin that except when she kills off a character & even then only rarely.

And by then it'll be too late.

Even when she kills off these staple characters, it really doesn't give any emotional payoff. When Dru "died" it was more about propping up Sharon more than anything..... and it made me sick........ I haven't watched the Nick death but I am sure its the same. Nikki just lost her son but she doesn't seem to care about that, all she cared is about screwing over Jack by becoming senator.

Dru's "death" served to prop Sharon & Phyllis both.

Though, ITA with you about it bein sickenin.

Nicholas death was so surreal it might as well have been satire, chile.

Victor, Nikki, Victoria, Sharon, Phyllis, Neil & Jack are all back to business as usual.

Jill's busy consolin Victor about the son he lost while she can barely be bothered with the "son" she was "reunited" with nor the son she "loved" & eventually buried.

Ugh.

...Just ugh.
