They wanted the Carey clan to be suffer a bit and have their happy ending then fine, but they did NOT have to demonize Adam in the process. He is teh victim here just like anyone else yet he gets trashed for feeling any type of pain after the love of his life (AMC's trash, not mine) tore his heart out and stomped over it with her trailer park payless shoes and everoyone else verbally and mentally beating up on him. Of course he hasnt been completely innocent, but they really went overboard to show he is an SOB to justify what Krystal and company did and to make him teh villian when he is probably the one that deserves teh most sympathy

<smallvoice> I kind of do. I remember similar feelings when Days went through its transition last summer -- awkward so-called redemptions and pacing, albiet countered by nice balance and character moments. The comparison might not be worth much, just thought I'd offer it up.

I also loved the Janet/Tad and Amanda/Adam scenes.

My favorite part yesterday was Adam turning the tables on JR, who imo is betraying his father by choosing Tad & the Careys over him. Adam's heart attack could have given JR the chance to make amends and instead he tried to trick his father into a confession.

Erica is the perfect choice to catch Sean & Ava since she was a teen temptress, too. I like her mother/son scenes with Sean and I think she'll probably end up helping Colby land him this summer.

I hate to judge an actress this early, but I have to agree that Sabine is not Greenlee. She lacks the smug snobbishness that Rebecca brought to the part, which made sense since Greenlee was raised to think the Smythes were superior to everyone else. Alicia did her best to salvage the scenes, but even her tears didn't make me believe this was Greenlee with Kendall.

I also agree that Jenny's kidnapping felt truncated. I feel torn about that. On the one hand, I wish Krystal had gone 10 months without her child for the sake of karma, on the other hand, at least McT's drawn-out storytelling style is over, which makes the entire show more entertaining.

IMO Tad and KWAK haven't suffered enough. When they go 9 moths believing their child is dead, while off with Janet or someone who will actually love her and raise her right, then I might say they've suffered enough.

Right now they got off easy once again. I only wish Bianca could have gotten Miranda back that fast

That is what I have been thinking recently as well.

Yesterday's episode was another great episode I love that AMC is heading in this direction. I loved practically every scene yesterday. Especially the Tad/Janet scenes and any scene with Amanda.

It's still kind of hard to watch Sabine's Greenlee. I want to give her a chance and I am hope that she will grow on me.

My problem with not Greens is not that she is not Rebecca's Greens because Bex is a tough act to follow. I'm not saying that Bex is a tremendous actress, but Greens was a unique character, and Rebecca put her stamp on the role. It would be tough for anyone. Sabine is ok in the acting department, but I think she needs to bring it down a notch for 2 reasons:

First being - it's annoying! notGreens and Ken together would bug the hell out of me.

And secondly but more important, why in the sam hell is this girl so perky anyway? She should not have returned as if nothing happened. She should still be angry and her wanting "Kenlee" back is just stupid! The writing for notGreens is all wrong, so there is really nothing to look forward to.

As for Ryan and Annie... They would be a nice couple if I could only tolerate Cameron (I'm so passed being annoyed with him), and I don't think the show did enough with Annie to make us root for her and Jughead. She went from Annie on the run to Annie/Ryan. Exactly who is this person as an individual? The character was not developed enough and then to chain her to that moron Lavery. Nothing to root for.

I totally agree. These days this show is too busy trying to pair off people, make instant couples, instead of letting the audience get a little insight as to who these people are, what they're about, decide whether or not we like them and THEN start testing the waters.

It's like Simone. For the longest time, we've been wanting her paired up with somebody because viewers cared about Simone and wanted to see her in a relationship. When it finally happens, they date off screen, and then get engaged out of the blue?! Two months later, Ethan's dead, and we're supposed to believe Simone is incredibly torn up over losing this guy... when we've seen NOTHING of their relationship because it all happened off screen. I feel the same way about Annie/Ryan. They went on, like, one date, find out that Emma's Ryan's biological daughter, and next we know Annie's in love and they're planning to get married?!?

Does Annie have any parents? What's Annie's maiden name? Why hasn't the show even given Annie ANY last name in the closing credits? It's only MCE as Annie. No McDermott? No Schmidt? No nothin'?

Greenlee has to hate Kendall. I mean Kendall now has everything she wanted and had. Greenlee had a successful company, a loving husband and desperately wanted a baby of her own. Kendall heads Fusion, has a great marriage with Zach and the baby with Ryan that was supposed to be for Greenlee. She also has to resent Ryan bc him not wanting kids pretty much ruined their marriage. His demons from his childhood haunted him and caused all types of problems. Now Ryan has 2 kids whom he loves and he's planning on having more. He's perfectly find with his past and has moved on. Why couldnt all of this happen when she was married to him? Greenlee is a very jealous, selfish and self centered person. Its in her nature to resent those 2 especially since she had so much hate in her before and after she left. This sudden change is too drastic. She better be fooling Kendall but I think she's genuine

    • Has anyone ever totted up how many women on GL slept with both father and son(s)? Reva gets a lot of crap for it but she's far from the only one: Claire Beth Blake Olivia Dina Did I miss anyone?
    • I think Long was probably planning to have Claire suffer from Post Partum, but she left the writing staff shortly after Claire had Michelle so that element didn't get explored. And I always assumed that when Claire returned in the late 90s/early 00s.. that she was realizing that she messed up by not staying a part of Michelle's life and became resentful/bitter over her previous choices.  That was my theory.
    • Jenn was a huge part of the success of Days back in the day, and that contribution shouldn't be dismissed.  With that said, I do think her and Jack's time on the show should remain as occasional visits/drop ins. When Missy returns to play Jenn, Jenn is back to being Jenn.   Jenn in her glory days was head strong, fiesty, and was a live wire.... and her scenes with Jack on Friday was classic Jenn with Jack being the voice of reason.   It was the foundation of their relationship back in the day.
    • Claire was always tightly wound, I think what Long was going to do is to throw the three into this impossible situation with no bad guys, Mo, knowing how to take care of kids from growing up but unable to conceive and Claire, who didnt know how to take care of kids and was totally focused on her career, gets knocked up.  Ryder took Claire off the deep end as a convenient way to make story for characters he wasnt interested in (though Pratt blames McTavish) with little effort. It was later explained to be a brain tumor (though why was she a bitch again when she returned?) \ Claire did sleep with Rick, she was his first!
    • I'm sorry, truly I am, but this literally made me LOL. Tempting fate, much?

    • Oh, I have very little doubt that Missy feels some way personally and privately.  Donna was just saying she actively spoke out against Days in public in reference to the gay storylines, which she did not. I don't have super strong feeling about Jen one way or another.  She was always a side character to me.  I still think Missy is Jen regardless of her stupid beliefs.
    • I hated the swap-over; Clayton Norcross, to me, was far superior in the role of Thorne than Jeff Trachta ever was. And the recast left me disliking Thorne when he was the superior son to me. As for Teri Ann Linn, I feel like she got the raw deal. Kristen was very clear as a forefronting character, especially in her rivalry with Stephanie, and it feels like she was dropped off for Felicia, and they never returned it. Not to mention the subpar recast with Tracy Melchior in 2001. Someone like Brenda Epperson (ex-Ashley, Y&R) would've been more suited for that role.
    • I just remember when Leo was marrying Craig (?), Greg Rikaart stated a line and made direct eye-contact with Melissa Reeves, and when the camera cut to her, she looked away.

Rikaart had a mission that day, and he succeeded.
