Jane Fonda would be another good Rosie replacement

I don't know. I doubt Hanoi Jane would be accepted by viewers.

I'm going to miss all the controversy Rosie stirs up, but it will be nice to listen to them talk about something other than the war and Bush.

I like Sheri Sheppard, Megan Mullally, could see Kathie Lee take over a spot, but not moderator.

I liked Patricia Heaton on Everybody Loves Raymond, but think she went over the top after the show ended and would not like to watch she and Liz rant on and on about being pro-Bush everyday.

I'd hate it if Patricia Heaton became co-host. She's as bad as Elisabeth when it comes to political views.

OH, give me a break!!! She's not "bad;" you just DISAGREE with her political views, which is fine.

But let's face it: it's NOT fair, or just, to have a show called "The View" about women with different viewpoints, and you have three to four obvious liberals who gang up on the lone conservative.

PATTY HEATON would be the perfect choice. She's smart and she doesn't mince words. I couldn't WAIT for her to rip into Joy with that graceful, witty, intelligent charm she has.

I just don't get what ABC is thinking here. Rosie has been a hit for this show, she's given it it's strongest ratings ever, and she's made the show topical again with mainstream audiences. I can't believe they'd argue with her over years instead of just renewing her year after year when she's doing more to give ABC Daytime ratings dollars than anything AMC, OLTL or GH are.

I like Sherri Shephard.

But what's really needed is someone who can argue politics like Rosie can, especially going into another election. And it needs to be someone who is not a republican so there is balance with Elisabeth (Joy only makes random political outbursts some times).

one person I think would be good, and was really, the only guest cohost I saw that was able to bring something worthwhile and intelligent was Rose McGowan, but I know she'd never do it. I biggest fear is out of panic, thinking they need another name to replace Rosie, they'll give Kathy Lee Gifford a call.

I disagree. If some hot topic like abortion or something came up, Joy and the other three would gang up on Bitsy. It NEEDS to be a conservative. But let's not forget; we actually NEED TWO replacements, do we not? I mean, Meredith's position hasn't been filled; Rosie took the other gal's, Star's, job. So we can have a lib replacement for Rosie but there NEEDS to be two conservatives on that show. it's an outrage and a slap in the face -- and a justification for the argument of liberal media, to not have more balance. Especially when someone like Rosie shuts down and shuts out and dismisses any conservative viewpoint and can argue louder and prouder and has the fanbase to get anyone to clap at her comments, unlike Bits. It's an unfair advantage.

Honestly, I think we're living in a different era now. That's over with, I think. If they can accept Rosie, surely they could accept Jane. It's just a different time now and there are new things in the world to be outraged about. lol, I think people are over Fonda's old crap.

Not that I'm suggesting that...unless they get ANOTHER strong conservative to balance things.

the show needs another non-republican.

of the three people that are there:

Elisabeth fills the republican role.

Barbara never speaks her mind for fear of being sued or embarrassed or not getting people to want to interview with her

Joy will occasionally go on a rant about the war, but that's about it. And it's never something serious.

There needs to be a serious liberal, to ballance Elisabeth's serious conservative. The other two are just filler.

It doesn't have to be fair. The country itself is leaning heavily anti Bush. His polls are in the toilet. And then there's the last house and senate elections to look at.

Also, to answer another question. Rosie took over the moderator job (which is a joke). Star's role is the one being filled with guest hosts.

Rosie O'Donnell's exit from "The View" had nothing to do with contract terms and everything to do with Rosie wanting to kick Barbara Walters off the show Babwa created, according to reports this morning.

Yesterday, Rosie claimed that her departure was the result of a contract dispute, but the New York Post reports that what Ro really wanted was to take over the show by herself. What's more, the Post's source says that ABC could've kept her by buying out Babwa's share of the show, but decided they had had enough of the outspoken O'Donnell.

Rosie's rep says that the report is "categorically false." Meanwhile, buzz about what Ro will do next is just that -- buzz -- and her rep says she's "going to sit back" and decide.

Read some of her interviews and you'll realize she's not smart and has zero charm.

LMAO at rosie today she put both bill o'reily and donald trump on blast today. She said the only reason bill has a beef with her was because she brought up his sexual harrassment charges, and he called up the show I guess a long time ago and threaten them and said if they brought it up again they would be in his crosshairs. An she called donald trump new hair color, jello-colored.lol

I'm kind-of glad they didn't let Rosie buy out Barbara's share. Maybe the show can reclaim some of it's fun again. With Rosie, everything was so forced and over-the-top. Even moreso than the other days.

I just wished we could get Meredith back!

I still continue to love Joy. She said something like she took a jab yesterday Donald and he was blasting her on the news outlets last night. She says something like it rolls off her back because she knows he's an ass, however Steve (her BF) was wanting to go kick his ass!! I love Joy!

My friend and I were talking today, do you remember that Rosie used to be their call-up girl who could be the guest co-host in years past and now this year their call in girl has been Kathie Lee Gifford. I really see Kathie Lee returning to The View as the new moderator!! OYE! Please no...oye!!!!

Kathie lee gifford would be a horrible choice, they have to realize that not many people can stand her. So they might like her, but I don't think they would hire her because its all about who the audience likes and the ratings.

The New York Post is also owned by Rupert Murdoch of Fox News, who Rosie O'Donnell has been critisizing - along with that paper's handling of the virginia tragedy when their front page is two thirds Larry Birkhead and one third Virginia. They have zero credibility in this case, and definitely have an axe to grind.
