From WGAeast site:

Addie Walsh

"Honey, call me when dinner's ready. I'm going upstairs to wax my skis. "

Daytime drama

So many stories. There's one that stands out for me. The one I wish I'd written. The best story ever. I forget which show it was...who the character was...but it doesn't matter. Because the story has a life of its own.

The story

Years ago, on whatever show it was, the writers decided to write out a particular character. They wanted to do it quickly. So, in one episode, the character went upstairs to wax his skis and was never seen again. The brilliant beginning of a never-ending daytime storyline. To this day, everyone is anxiously waiting to find out what happened to him.

We all know he never waxed the skis.

The possibilities...

1. He fell out an upstairs window, hit his head HARD, sustained amnesia, wandered off, assumed another identity and started a whole new life. Some day, he will remember...and he will return. And when he does, he'll change the lives and loves of everyone he left behind.

2. Or... While the skier was preparing to wax his skis, the wax caught fire. And he sustained terrible burns all over his face. Somehow, he got out of the house, found a really good plastic surgeon...and has been masquerading as another character ever since. Some day, he will make his true identity known. And when he does, he'll change the lives of loves of everyone he left behind.

3. Or... When he went upstairs, his crazy mother followed him and locked him in the attic. One day, he will find a way out of his prison (a.k.a. his mother's womb). When he's finally free, he'll be lost and troubled...and will need the love of a good woman to save him. The damaged man's return will change the lives and loves of everyone he left behind.

4. Or... When he got upstairs, he opened the ski wax and was immediately overcome by toxic fumes. His "best friend " poisoned the wax so he could move in on the skier's wife, inheritance and Gstaad season lift ticket. The best friend got rid of the skier's body...not realizing his friend wasn't dead. The skier was found in a trash dumpster...by a very lonely nurse with one eye and a passion for Stephen King stories. All these years, she's kept the skier alive...and she's fallen in love. When the skier comes to, he'll find his way home...and the nurse will follow. He hopes to change the lives and loves of everyone he left behind. But the one-eyed, fatally attracted nurse might be a problem.

I'm shocked Addie wouldn't know that rumour started with AMC...

I found 3 videos from Loving I made during her era on it--really strong stuff as I said

  • 3 weeks later...

Considering the total inaccuracy of this initial (edited) post, I have to wonder if any of this is true as far as Walsh, Demorest and Alden.

There's no question Kay Alden is involved with the show, but her name will be nowhere near the credits. Unless ABC officially installs her as the HW, which they haven't yet.
