Adam they were definitely great years and there were other minor stories that could have fit in there. Out of all the shows that are on right now AMC is the only one I have watched almost from day one (except for a brief period from Feb. of last year to December). And of course during my school age years I missed some during school time but my Mom & Dad always told me what was going on.

Y&R I have watched since day one but had a longer period of not watching.

I love AMC esp. the Agnes Nixon years followed close by the Wisner Washam years. The only thing about those years that I hated was that he killed off Anne Tyler which always surprised me.

One story that I forgot to add that I enjoyed a lot was:

the Palmer/Donna/Chuck triangle - it was so good too. I hated Johnny Tyler was sacrificed during that one

I would pick these as some of my favorite storylines.

There are some good stories that have taken place after Douglas Marland died but Irna Phillips,the Soderbergs,the Dobson's, Millee Taggart and Tom King and finally Douglas Marland made As the World Turns great.

Lorraine Broderick and Richard Culliton were good too!

Some that I would add to SteveFrame's great list are:

Tom's buddy Hank Barton gets him hooked on drugs.

Tom hates Lisa when little Chuckie is born.

Lisa rubs it in Claire's face that she gave birth to her husband's baby.

Rick Ryan's hatred of Bob Hughes.

Lisa,Bennett Hadley and the Willows. A ripoff of the old movie Rebecca but I loved it!

One note on the Denise Cavanaugh story. For anyone who loves psycho stories that is the best one. She played a mentally trouble lady without ever going over the top like Kate Collins, Kimberlin Brown, and others do at times. If only the writers today could write psycho, mentally troubled characters like her I would not have any problem with them. Holland Taylor deserve at least an Emmy nomination that year but got nothing.

If would need to feature more Victor. In 2006 Days did a great job with having EJ carrying on the DiMera's or at least starting too, but not necessarily Philip's. Not because he is acting like a hothead, but we need Victor to show him the ropes in a sense. EJ has obviously already been taught the DiMera ropes by Stefano. Philip definately needs to learn the Kiriakis ropes and right now Victor is barely involved with the story.
