Daytime Emmy Nominations: Discussion

BIG FREAKIN WORD!!!!!!

The 2007 Emmy's can lick.my.ass.

Now, see, I'd be offended by that -- although, there again, there are some people (definitely not me) who'd LOVE to do that to somebody.

Greg Rikaart stated before that he submits short, yet effective material, and the academy likes that. I think this is Greg's 3rd/4th nomination?

I think it's his third. And although this wasn't his strongest year, it certainly wasn't undeserved. The boy can act!

Wow.... Just wow. When I left for class at 9:15 this morning, there were 4 pages. I'm finally caught up. All I'm going to say is, thank God I went to class today. Had I not, I would probably no longer be an SON member. Some harsh comments that really fired me up.

The nominations sucked. Period. Kristian Alfonso deserved the nomination over Jeanne Cooper. Period. The academy hates DAYS. Period.

And an awesomely huge WTF?! to James Stevenson getting a nomination as Jared over any DAYS actor. If you can honestly sit there and tell me that PSNS has more talented actors on their cast than DAYS does, you really need to lay down the pipe...

Wow, I'm going to disagree with you for a change.

I was VERY happy to see James get the nom. He deserves it. I think many "Passions" fans, whether or not the like the Jared character (I did, but now he's standing in the way of Ethan and Theresa with Gwen gone so now I wish he'd die) would tell you that James just IS Jared. Unlike many actors (paging Adrian Bellani!) he doesn't look like he's trying to act.

Honestly, he's so good, if he walked by him on the street I'd say, "Hey Jared!" NOT "Hey James."

He just puts that character on so well.

I don't meant to sound rude, but if you seriously can tell me that NBCD is more talented than CBSD or ABCD then you need to lay down the pipe lol.

I said that PSNS has better performers than DAYS, not necessarily overall cast. Juliet Mills alone is the best thing on NBCD and she gets nothing. Andrea Evans is incredible, check out her Tina days. Lyndsay Hartley is a good actress. And Ben Masters can probably school all of the other actors on NBCD. When it comes to performers, I think PSNS beats DAYS because of those top three (Mills, Evans, and Masters).

Again James Stevenson isn't a surprise to me. Like Justin Hartley, he's natural. When I watch him, I don't get the sense that I'm watching him act. I feel like he's real, unlike Tom Pelphrey. Because James Stevenson doesn't use hysterics, people will not see him as good.

OH MY GOD, DruRocks, you and me ARE SOOOOOO in synch! I just posted the same thing about James, and I didn't even look at your post!

See, guys? It must be true, lol. Yeah, James is a natural. He just IS Jared Casey.

I don't like the random selection idea. It's unfair IMO.

LoL @ unfair.

Lindsay Hartley is amazing. I've loved her since the first episode in 1999... I could tell she had potential, and damn, did she ever tap into it! She should've been nominated for an Emmy many times now.

I PRAY TO GOD IN HEAVEN that next year -- since "Passions" will be eligible, thank God -- Lindsay finally gets her award. She's just an Emmy actress, and she NEEDS that on her resume. Not for her sake. For mine. So I can know she knows how awesome she is. :)

Yep, he can act but Jerry Douglas should be there. Buuut that's the Y&R castmates fault. And yep, you're right it's three.

JSF, this is Bryton McClure's second nomination!

Oh, my God. THis is so shocking me right now, lol. That's just CRAZY!! I guess I missed his name called out because I watch the Emmys EVERY year. Then again, if it's not a "Days" or "Passions" actor (and this year, AMC actor, if it were applicable -- it's not, right?) then I don't hear their name, lol.

You aren't serious, are you? LoL

He's been on Y&R for three years or so now. He plays Dru and Neil's "son," Devon Hamilton.

I have never felt more out of the loop. :(

But then again, I don't watch Y&R so I wouldn't know that, and won't feel bad because of it! :)

Wow. You must be relieved to get your hearing back once the show is over, LoL

Pleeeeeeease

Oh, DruRocks, I had no idea, but I'm happy for the guy. I hope to see more "Family Matters" vets get acting jobs. HOnestly, after a show like that -- no offense, actors, if you're reading this, by a rare chance! -- it's HARD to not be pigeonholed as your character. Especially if you're Urkel!

And sorry, DruRocks, but this casting decision wasn't posted on the front cover of every newspaper in America, so no, I really didn't know BM had another job! I always think of him as Little Richie. ALWAYS.
