I do not think it is my job or respobsibilty to change anyone. Thats what makes everyone great is the fact we can form our own thoughts and opinions.

I stated mine, you mocked me, not sure why.

I honestly believe the only way to see things clearly is to be a centrist or independant. If you are taken in with all the left/right wing hate machines, you are not a solution to a problem, you are the problem. When you go to the extremes, you see no middle, you only see YOU (not YOU persay, but the extreme sides)

Do I voice my opinion, sure I do. But thats not forcing my belief of trying to change anyone. It is merely another, valued voice in a debate. The only ones that seem to think I am wrong are the far left mindset. Not sure why. They have a right to their views. BUt for some reason I am name called, made fun of and treated like [!@#$%^&*] for being me.

If thats what a stance on the far left or right does to you...makes you a hateful, vengeful person...I am glad I am not a part of it.

I am just going to ask nicely before this gets out of hand that you refrain from laughing at someone's post or view, please try to refrain from an overabundance of the LOL smily or the rolling eyes smily - which in a thread that can become heated can cause the wrong impression.

We as Moderators do not get a thrill out of closing threads. There are things that each of us can do as posters to help make sure that threads do not get out of hand.

Please think before you post especially if you are posting in haste or in anger.

The posts in this thread are fairly tame right now but a few are starting to tread on the verge of making people mad. Let's just please watch certain things, and the thread will not get out of hand.

Live and let live everyone.

Respect each others opinions, please. No one is asking anyone to agree with them, but let's just all have a good time, and not try to get off-topic by mcoking anyone because of their political leanings. :)

I don't see myself as falling anywhere on the "LEFT-RIGHT" spectrum. I think it's a limited device for measuring one's political outlook.

I have traditionally right-wing views on matters of the economy (ie. I tend to favor minimal state intervention in the economy) and traditionally left-wing views on social issues (pro-choice, pro gay rights, anti-death penalty etc.) Some might call these views "classical liberalism" or "libertarian".

I'm usually quite pragmatic about political issues, though. I try to consider both sides of a debate rather than taking a pre-conceived position based on ideology. If I were an American citizen (which I'm not), I would never affiliate myself with either the Democrats or Republicans.

    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
