I agree...Baywatch has NO place on TVLand, but then again, neither do half the shows presently on TVLand. That channel has gone to hell in a handbasket in the last year. And now they are adding M*A*S*H at the first of the year. Who the hell cares? I don't. They are constantly rearranging their schedule, and removing some of the more popular old tv shows. They are about to lose me completely as a viewer.

Well M*A*S*H was on from 72-83 and it's an older show, what pisses me off is that Baywatch isn't that old of a show; and I want to be able to see older shows that didn't go off the air in 2001 on TVLand....

I have to agree with you about Baywatch. It has NO place on TVLand.

What do you think of all the original programming on TVLand these days?

Well, "Baywatch" was only for a weekend marathon. TVLand didn't acquire the rights to it. Spike already had the rights, they were running out, so TVLand aired a full weekend of mainly 1989-1995 episodes as a way to send it off. Of course, Spike ended up renewing it and aired it again for a few months. I wish they'd bring it back, and in an afternoon slot (around 3ish). I was really started to revisit it when they suddenly yanked it off again.

I only watch Mama's Family on i, but I definitely see why the network is doing so well. The only show I watched on PAX was Supermarket Sweep...and that was only if I was really bored.

I've never seen Baywatch on TVLand...I remember them doing the weekend of it, but that was the only time it was mentioned. As weird as it seems, some people consider shows from the 90s to be "old." I don't agree with it, but I understand. I remember last week watching an episode of Seinfeld that mentioned JFK Jr., and thinking that that episode was now outdated, even though it was made in the mid-90s.

I don't like how some shows are on all the time, and others aren't. Shows like Leave it to Beaver, Bonanza, and Gunsmoke are on all the damn time!! TVLand used to show Maude and Soap, but they stopped a while ago. I was really bummed out b/c you really can't see them anywhere else. I know that they were featured onDemand on Comcast.

Maybe TVLand should have a second station, one for shows from the 50s and 60s, and another for the 70s and 80s. It must be popular. That's one of the only stations that my family watches.

What's the point of reality shows on TVLand anyway?! The purpose of this show was to air everything that was "too old" for Nick At Nite.

I also feel in terms of "aging" itself, Nick at Night aged itself way too much. It just feels odd having 90's shows like WINGS and FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR on Nick At Nite. What's next? FRIENDS and SEINFELD?!

I'm just not fond of cable networks that veer off the original intended course(VH1 Classic, THIS MEANS YOU!).

It would be fun if the i network acquired the rights to NightTracks or old, obscure music videos to air on Friday and Saturday Nights.

I'm definitely part of the 21% growth! Especially now that everything on the big networks is in re-runs, I'm watching Growing Pains and Mama's Family every night.

I only have one (well, two) complaints about "I" - the neverending infomercials, and the super-cheesy commercials that are geared to 80 year olds. I'm hoping if "I" keeps growing, air time will get more expensive, and the cheesy commercials will be out.

    • I loved today's episode....shocker LOL Dani & Andre were so cute and adorable. Vernon trying to cover his tracks with Anita, while holding his own with Leslie. And the pièce de résistance, Eva & Kat. Soooooo goood!!!
    • According to the newspaper columnists at the time of Mark Dante's return, Gerald Gordon had been a favorite of Fred Silverman, who left ABC for NBC and took Gordon with him. Silverman supposedly put him on a contract with NBC. Gordon return to "General Hospital" occurred after Silverman left NBC so Gordon may have been in need of work and he may have left Monty on good terms. His pairing seems very C-story at best based on synopses but maybe there was more to it.
    • I am truly at a loss for words about today's episode. I have no clue what they are trying to do or where this Luna story is going. I was literally dumbfounded.
    • I'm inclined to agree with you and I loved her at Santa Barbara.
    • I haven't watched DAYS in years, so I have some questions for anyone who can answer them. Is the show actually acknowledging that Jeremy abused Stephanie?  The things he did to her back in 2007 were reprehensible.  I wasn't watching too much when that was happening, but I seem to remember that the show (at the time) didn't outright label him an abusive partner and instead acted like he was just badly behaved or something like that.  Could someone who was watching back then tell me how they remember it?
    • It also strangely happened while the story was airing. You had a gothic and spooky story that because it got eyeballs ended up being dragged out and turned into camp. Marlena starts talking to herself constantly with that voice, she’s strapped to the bed for a never ending exorcism, would almost die multiple times during the process, and then everyone would just leave her there with Caroline Brady sitting next to her holding a rosary. Reilly had the show so segregated that when Carrie found out what was happening in practically her next scene she was like I’m praying for Marlena. Now what are we going to do about Sami? I don’t know about anyone else, but I would probably stop my storyline for at least a couple of episodes and have to go see my stepmother that had a huge part in raising me floating around with those eyes in her beautiful penthouse. It was just so stupid, and when it started I didn’t necessarily agree with the story being told, but at least it was taken seriously.
    • Yes, I feel the same way. I get the reasoning behind hiring him. He was playing a very similar character on RH, and they were in a pinch. I also found his accent very distracting. But then, Bev also didn't sound like she was from Illinois, and it didn't bother me a bit. That said, I've always had a great deal of sympathy for the situation he was in. It's never easy to take over from someone popular with fans, and how the TPTB were always insisting he was coming back eventually was another issue. Hearing he was going through it in his personal life on top of that makes me even more sympathetic. I found the article where it mentioned he had worked on both soaps at the same time. This was written a while after he left the show. Interesting that he was open to returning and that fans were asking him about when Alan was going to get out of jail. To this day, I don't understand why they kept Alan off the canvas as long as they did. He should have been there in the thick of Roger's return (without the dumb attempt to kill him), especially while he was married to Alex. To me, Raines was lacking in a lot of qualities needed for Alan. I think he would have been a better Mike Bauer.  They took five years to bring Alan back. They could have found someone better. No one is irreplaceable. Anyone who took over the role would have been different from Bernau. But somewhere out there was an actor who would have had the suaveness, intensity, and charm that IMO the character needed.

    • I did feel like JFP's Y&R was decent. Of all the recent HW/EP swaps, her period was very safe but watchable. Nothing spectacular but better than what we have now.
    • I don’t watch B&B but I did know about Heather and forgot her. I really don’t know anything about Lawrence. Do people like his scripts?   Yes she did! And I know she did double duty too, even if Bell slowly phased Julia out while she wrote for the show.
