But my problem is: don't tell me you're an independent and then spend all your time syaing that Dems and Liberals are the servants of the devil. I'm sick of that. If you are a conservative or a right-winger, be proud of it, but to say to me that you are voting for Democrats and then take the next 5 posts to bash the people you are voting for?

How silly is that?!

Exactly....great post Drew.

And Iraq is turning into another Vietnam. And I heard on the news last night that Bush says he will not change his policy on Iraq even if Laura and Barney the dog are the only two left speaking to him.

What does that tell you about the Republican party? <_<

I support our troops, but not the reason they are over there in the first place.

If this were Afghanistan it might be different, but Iraq didn't attack us, Osama Bin Laden doesn't live there, and they had NO Weapons of Mass Destruction.

We are there only because of the oil, and because Bush is cleaning up his Daddy's mess.

I am glad that Saddam is out of the picture and will be punished for what he has done, but what about Osama? Seems like we have forgotten all about him

I am very patriotic, and I hate seeing the shape this country is in right now.

Let's hope that we hear nothing but good news tonight and that the Democrats do very well!

And everyone be sure to get out and vote; I know I did. :)

Bill O'Reilly should have known David Letterman would screw with him, so asking for an apology is stupid.

He thinks his sh!t don't stink...he forgets that he had phone sex with an intern and used to be the anchor of "A Current Affair," which catered to sleazy stories.

Him, Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh should not be the journalistic mouthpieces for the Republican party. They're closed minded douchebags.

Kwing, I'll make sure to put my pentagram, black candles, and my sacrifical alter away next time.

Put a fork in it Kwing and if you are so bought by this package from a bunch of lying thieves who continue to increase the deficit that guess who has to pay off-yes YOU my friend-and start actually doing some research as to how the Republican party is certainly not the same as it was under Eisenhower, who in my firm opinion was the last true icon that the GOP ever has had...since him we've had Nixon (no brainer as to how poor he got), Ford who later pardoned the SOB, Reagan and his breaks to big business that lead to higher taxes for individuals (duh no surprise since corporations are into creating their markets overseas) and aid to known terrorists (refer to Iran-Contra Affair)....George H.W. Bush happened to be fairly descent but we still had major problems under his presidency like with the pardoning of Oliver North, Persian Gulf War (bypassed UN sanctions on the region. Guess who refused to wait for UN inspection for Iraq's capabilities of WMDS? His son! Like father, like son I suppose), and nomination of Clarence Thomas amidst outcry from around the country over his tallywhacker's importance in judicial decisions rather than with a brain and intellect

Democrats are far from perfect but honestly they deserve to now have a chance to offer their vision for the next two crucial years in the races on all issues and how we can finally look into benchmarks for success in Iraq whichever is left of the country that we have occupied now for three plus years and yet the only pro has been the capture of a dictator whose crimes against the United States were minimal in comparison to that of the mastermind behind the largest attack in history (yes bigger than Pearl Harbor)

Hillary said it best at the 2004 Democrat National Convention...."In 1992 and 1996 Americans chose a president who left our country in better shape than when he took office"

Six years after a surplus of jobs and alliances throughout the world we are now down to more vulnerability of a terrorist attack, a million dollar or so surplus turned into a trillion dollar deficit, and very few allies (we barely had any to begin with in our "War on Terrorism" more like we battled an Ism for nearly two decades in Vietnam (communism) who yes your administration managed to skate out of as they have through literally many scandals relating to Foley, Abramoff, Rove outing Plame, quail shooting and instead choose to deflect their failures in the present onto questioning a veteran's status just two years ago when everyone knows it is an ugly sin to question the sacrifices of those in an unpopular war that historians still argue to this day as unwinnable and with no end in sight along with no exit strategy

Iraq has been proven to have no strategy for overall success for all allied powers to benefit, senseless deaths of innocent civilians (it is not the Iraqi's fault that Hussein rose to extremes to intimidate them into keeping his authority in power, nor is it our business to dictate foreign policy in a sovereign nation that remained a small threat to our security on the eve of invasion....what does it remain to be? A rich source of oil money for companies that the administration has stock in for years and add to their bank account (e.g. Dr. Condoleezza Rice was on the Board of Directors for Chevron and had a missile named after her...yep that is the truth!)

Oh and just to end this on a positive note for the Democrats....say hello to the U.S. House of Representatives-Donkey style!

:D

I am neither left or right, dem or repub

That is why I feel I can speak. I am not full of hate, and anger like so many here.

Sorry that you are so closed minded to be open to ALL ideas and ALL ways of life and thinking.

Anyway, I think KO and CM did a great job last night. In fact I feel all cable network shows did a great job covering.

But you liars, haters and so on will just go off on me once again because I have a view that is different. Instead of respecting it, you denounce me...really mature peeps!

So much for an open government and free thinking huh!

And I am sorry, I did not know this was only a LEFT wing board. I thougth this was an open board for open discussion. But then againk, when you only think your way is the right way, no wonder you bash and discredit those with a different view.

True arrogance and ignorance on here I see.

Hello Nazi Germany!

    • Marland was long gone by this point.  He quit in either August/September 1982. I think it was due to letting the actress play out her contract and use her for party scenes and/or scenes with Phillip/Justin.   I was surprised she was still on in June 1983 myself, because I figured she had been written out before Pam Long joined the writing staff. Thankfully, having episodes uploaded during this period on Spauldingfield YT site has helped to connect some of the dots.  It looks as though Pam Long starts the first week or so of May 1983.. and in those first few weeks: Morgan and Evie were both written off and Lillian/Mindy/Billy/Beth/Annabelle all come onto the show.

    • Doug III’s first day of work. Hope he does a good job… or that Tate tries to sabotage him somehow

His scenes with Holly were nice though. They’re sweet together and I understand why some people think that they have more chemistry than Tate/Holly do. And I liked that Doug III opened up to her about his past. Maybe that could lead to something good happening in the future.  I also enjoyed Roman and Kate, and how they’re both being tied into EJ’s shooting. The mystery of it all is really compelling. I don’t think Roman is the shooter though either.  I didn’t have much sympathy for Kristen though. She has no one to blame for Rachel’s problems than herself. But at the same time, I’m really surprised that Days actually remembered the Alex/Kristen fling. I thought Ron had erased that from existence. I’m not shipping them at all, but I’m definitely shipping a permanent end to Brady/Kristen but after today, I’m not so sure about that either.  And, Johnny and Chanel were still great together

    • Some country club revelation thoughts from a casual watcher no one asked for. The Great: Daphnee Duplaix gave the best performance we've seen yet. Nicole's dialogue was also well thought out and felt character specific. TJ Maxx Ted was also pretty good. Trisha Mann-Grant steals every scene she's in. Often without even trying. Carrying multiple episodes worth of exposition heavy soap dialogue with starts and stops and recapping and drama and humor is no small feat and she nailed. Vernon telling Lesliana to STFU.  The Bad: So much of the dialogue for the rest of the cast was overly written. Martin said "You are a vile human being with a hole in your heart!". Marty, what are we doing? It's SO dramatic and sounds so silly coming from this grown man. Do Bill and Hayley do anything but talk about the Duprees? And the nerve of her to get so excited to find out Ted is a cheater when she and her husband are too. There should be a hint of shame mixed in with your glee, ma'am. The Questionable: Coffee and a rendition of Amazing Grace after finding out Nicole was betrayed by her husband. The Duprees are an odd bunch. The stinger of one segment had Anita prepared to lambast Lesliana, when we came back someone else was talking. When Anita eventually said something to Wig, it was a lukewarm at best. And then of course she thought singing a song about something that should absolutely not be extended to her son-in-law. The entire family allowing this deranged woman to speech at them in their own was...nuts. I know she said something about what would the neighbors say but my GOD. Is she just going to be allowed to trespass whenever she feels like it now? The focus on Leslie and her wig usage as an oddity is...odd. I think Chelsea said something like "and she wears wigs!" (while wearing a buss down middle part). Okay? It's just not that odd for a black woman to change up her hair. It's the different names that's the problem. I know it's meant to be humorous, in a throwback soap kind of way, but it fell flat for me.  I'm sorry I find the whole family to be WEIRD. It's like they want us to see them as ruthless yet benevolent, open yet furtive, snobbish yet tooth achingly sweet all at the same time. I cannot get a lock on the family dynamics. Everyone is just there.  I'm gonna cry if this show doesn't start giving us ages (or close to it!) for these characters. Because if Eva is 21-22 then Martin was being given crayons, a soda pop and blinders when he was 15-17 years old. Martin had to have been under 8 for me to buy this story, which would make Eva and Kat late 20s (Martin is at least 35 since he wants to run for president), which I don't think they're meant to be. It's honestly minor but it bothers me. I've mentioned this to @Vee but I think the optics on opening the show with both sisters discovering their husbands of over 30 years are cheaters should've been considered. I doubt there was any intention behind it, no one's rubbing their hands together as they scheme to say the married black men can't stay loyal but how does it look? Maybe it's just me. Honestly it's probably just me!
    • Thank you very much!!!! I really appreciate it!!! I also have read the GH coffee table book from the 90s!!!
