I agree with this part of your post. Joe Torre is a nice fellow but maybe he just needs to step away from the Yankees. He's been there a long time as he was with St. Louis.

Maybe Joe Torre should come back to St. Louis. I've had my fill of Tony LaRussa who also doesn't seem to go out and get the pitching that St. Louis has always needed. The Cardinals can't get to the WS on just Cris Carpenter's pitching about Albert Pujols hitting. I have no doubt that the Mets will cream them. LaRussa was really at his peak when he was with Oakland, but I think it's time that the St. Louis front office make a change in management.

IA, but the ownership is so damn tight with its cash that they want to do it without going over 90 million. They need pitching more than anything else, but they are more worried about the $600 million ballpark village they want to start on. Believe me, the ownership has been getting lambasted on local radio, as has LaRussa, who seems to change his managerial style when he gets to the playoffs. He has had the talent in the past to have won at least one WS, but has F'ed it up every time with his decisions.

ICAM! I liked Busch stadium the way it was and thought nothing was wrong with it. I think the front office needs re-prioritize and be more concerned about their baseball team.

On another note, it looks like Joe Torre will be staying with Yankees for the time being. In a statement released by Joe Torre, he said he talked with Steinbrenner at length and although he is disappointed, he does expect a turnaround next year.

Also, A-Rod will be staying.

Congrats to the Tigers!

With their pitching, I think it's a sure bet that they'll win the World Series now.

I hope you're right Toups! I've been waiting a long time for the Tigers to win another World Series! :)

Well. I guess the Cardinals DON'T stink! :)

But I still feel that Detroit will take it in 6.

Congrats Roman on your Cards!! :)

I am not a fan of La Russa or the Cards but I like Pujols alot. They have alot of players I like actually.

My problem with the Cards is they bore me for some reason. I guess because they play so good fundamentally-kinda like the Patriots and Spurs. La Russa does hang around with Belichick so I guess that is why. I don't hate them I just find them lacking in emotion and energy but seeing them celebrating tells me they just keep it under wraps.

I have Detroit in 5. The Cards could easily be swept like 2004 though because Detroit is hot. However, if the Cardinal pitching is as good as it was in this series it could go 7 easily and I hope it does. I want some drama and MLB will need it because the ratings may not be good for this unless it goes 6-7 games.

Thanks for the congrats.

I just don't think they have the hitting to match Detroit. Rolen is hurt, and in LaRussa's doghouse. I also can't stand TLR, because he decides to manage diffrently in the playoffs than he does during the RS. IF the pictching comes through, and they get timely hits, and can split the series coming back to St. Louis, they may have a chance. The biggest thing they should do is keep riding the underdog mantra they have. No one, including me, picked them to beat the Mets, and I really feel for the players, and the fans. The NY and national sports media can kiss my ass. ESPN, I hope, is choaking on their own vomit right now, becuasethey hate the fact that once again, a NY team will not be playing in the WS.

But we'll see. Hopefully, it will be fun. :)

Well, I hate the Mets but like some of their players and I LOVE Willie so I was hoping for them. I didn't pick either team to be here so good for them. I think everyone is choking on their words not just the media. I mean even alot of fans of the two teams left didn't honestly think this was possible but I hope it's a good series. I just want some October drama and not another sweep or series ending in 5 games. If my team can't win, I at least want a good world series so I hope we get that.

I look forward to the WS, but realize Detroit is a good team.

I'm just glad the Cardinals made it as far as they did.

If anything else, the Cards now have some respect. Even if they come up short, they have now done 100 times better than they did in '04, against the RS.

Believe it or not, the one getting ripped here is TLR, for possibly knowing KR was cheating and not saying anything. It's huge. If that is true, I don't see how he can go on as Cards' manager after this season.
