  1. Beloved Australian soap opera 'Neighbours' is resuming production during the coronavirus pandemic. Here's how https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/20/media/neighbours-resumes-production-coronavirus-intl-hnk-scli/index.html
  2. There's a lot of talk about the show not going too far in the past just to make sure the viewers see familiar faces but I wonder: does the show really have that many new viewers? I tend to think most viewers have been watching the show for the longest time and even new viewers (I myself started in 2000) somehow managed to catch up with the past via Youtube. Soap operas are all about nostalgia so I don't really see the need to keep the reruns *that* contemporary.
  3. LOL... where do these writers even live...
  4. Thanks! She does come across as the most ego-less actress out there (and I mean it in the best possible way) - to fill in for BD so many times even after being dumped for BD herself. Watching these old Jill clips, I can't help but think that Bill Bell was inspired by BD as some sort of muse. I had some experience as a writer (albeit short and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, of course) and I know there is a reason if your material rings so true and is so successful.
  5. I have to wonder though - why did they pick Jess Walton over Deborah Adair to permanently replace BD? Maybe Adair was only willing to play the role short term?
  6. https://www.economist.com/books-and-arts/2020/04/18/brazils-beloved-telenovelas-have-sputtered-to-a-halt Globo is considering banning kissing when production of novelas resumes, at least initially. Crowd scenes will also be avoided to limit the need for extras. Smooching will surely return (though some quarantine habits, such as videoconferencing, will doubtless linger both in life and on screen). But the pandemic's wider impact on television entertainment is unpredictable.
  7. I had no idea but I read in the comments it's "Karen/Faith" if that makes sense to you guys. Funny: when Stephanie welcomes Brooke and Eric she comments on Brooke's costume: "Brooke, dressing up as a prostitute even at a charity event?".
  8. One can only hope! And if they have been digitally archived indeed... well, let's hope for a massive leak
  9. Since Y&R reran its Masquerade Ball, here's a vintage B&B's costume party. (dubbed in Italian)
  10. Thanks! I've just listened to it. Very interesting and lovely. I was impressed with Alec Baldwin! He was a great host and you could tell he has tremendous respect for the genre.
  11. Great point! (Oh and for some reason I've never been a fan of Bibel's... 😕 ) I was not aware of Alec Baldwin's podcast with PB, I'll check it out.
  12. I'm sure everyone knew this already, but I just figured out that DAYS's original, young Hope was Y&R's young Patti Williams: https://youtu.be/rFeYLLgpqx8?t=491 (video can't be embedded)
  13. You nailed the description. What I noticed in the John/Jill/Jack/Kay storyline is that BD was having a blast. She could not help but smile the whole time and it worked really well because it looked like Jill was unfazed at Kay's threats or Jack's warnings. She really played the character as if Jill could not care less, except when it came to Phillip - she showed her more vulnerable side every time Phillip was mentioned. Even the fact that BD's portrayal became more icy and unchecked over time I think it worked with the character's evolution, she HAD to grow colder and harder with the things that happened to her.
  14. I just think that was the first story where a woman accused a man of rape/harassment in a decade. It was insulting because it was a false accusation (many women still get the message they shouldn't report because they won't be believed) and it came right after the sperm saga, which I loved but I could see why it was considered a misogynistic story.
  15. Hope this means that zoomers will start to understand me every time I make a Perry Mason reference!
  16. Was the video posted somewhere?
  17. I've been strangely addicted to those videos! Even though I know what happens, the way they're paced, the beats of the story, the music and the acting have me on the edge of my seat! I'm hoping the clips don't get taken down... Please, let TPTB have mercy of us in these trying times! You can tell immediately there's a difference in JW's portrayal of Jill, even though she was following in BD's footsteps at the time. I cannot put my finger on it though! It drives me crazy. What was about BD's performance that made her so unique? I think BD's Jill came across as she really couldn't give a f*ck. Except for those rare instances when she did, that BD never ever missed. JW's Jill comes across as if she's trying too hard.
  18. He was about to say he was trying to reach Pelphrey through Kim Zimmer, I think, and then he stopped...
  19. Who were they talking about when they mentioned a previous cast member who was supposed to play Nancy Pelosi? I missed the name.
  20. I see what you mean - her raping Victor and accusing him of rape was especially insulting to women - but I think psychos are part of the winning Y&R formula, also right before her we did have Matt Clark who could balance her out.
  21. I'm there with you cause I stopped watching the show around 2005! What I regret the most is not watching the show when it was written by Jean Passanante and Shelley Altman! Are you familiar with them?
  22. Does anyone know what episode that is? I love Sabryn Genet 🥰😭
