  1. I know!! I don't understand either. I loved Kristi. She seemed genuine. I am annoyed at Locher looking annoyed. Pam Long gets mentioned all the time, why doesn't he set up one of these with her?!
  2. Woah, flash-forward 20 years and Brad is a completely different writer...
  3. I agree. I think the audience was indifferent to Cricket. As for LLB, I too think she must be an extremely lovely woman, she's a competent actress and I'd be curious to see her work as a writer. I'd be lying if I said that the exposure to Cricket we've experienced in the classics hadn't felt like overkill...
  4. This reminded me of this video. Not that it's anything to go by, but literally nobody was a fan of the character of Cricket. She was asked: - about her father and if she could influence the writing. - about Michael Damien - if Cricket would ever become nastier. Hardly a fan favorite, especially opposite DD and JW who were receiving more insightful questions, I'd say. I liked Isabella! Until they ruined the story with Cricket's black wig, Isabella's fake death and her threatening Cricket's life. Sorry, that was too much. (and it had Jack Smith's stamp all over it)
  5. Thanks! Especially for the subs! I love brushing up my French every now and then 😊
  6. I agree but I think they were just winging it. And they still are. They should have realized by now that they should dedicate each week to a storyline.
  7. I agree. Thanks for the info about Sherman! I loved reading about him. The legal aspect of each storyline was always so intriguing.
  8. I swear in every single classic there's Christine. I know the same could be said for Victor and Jack, but when it comes to Christine it feels so overkill because her presence is somewhat not organic to the rest of the show. The courtroom scenes are so cringy because you can tell the writers want her to say the good thing and be the good guy, but you can't have that 100% if your character is a lawyer. As a result Christine comes across as a very lousy lawyer, at least to me.
  9. I thought Dru was adorable. Her exchange with John put a smile on my face. It's so confusing watching Cassandra being in the midst of a murder mystery a minute and then being a businesswoman the next minute. It was equally confusing seeing Nicholas married with children one day and back as a kid the next day. Just release the whole classics already! I didn't know Neil started at Jabot. It's really confusing because in the 1999 episodes posted upthread he was saying to Victor: "You took me under your wing when I was fresh out of college". BTW watching these classics reminded me how hard it was for me initially to understand if Jabot and Newman were in the same building.
  10. @YRBB Could you share where you are watching the show? I used to have a website with a very exhaustive DAYS library (I think they were also on Twitter) but the site has expired or moved 😕
  11. Hahahah yeah, Santa Barbara and GL were pretty popular too. I wonder what makes certain shows appealing to International audiences and what does not. Certainly the schedule plays a part. The International title too. But who knows, really. AW, AMC, ATWT, DAYS, SFT, GH, OLTL, PC were all broadcast in Italy but they were canceled after very few years. Y&R survived the longest but only due to the tie with B&B. Of course foreign countries are not as big as the US, hence they can only absorb so many dramas. But I digress...
  12. This Italian FB page has posted plenty of Loving scenes on their wall. Obviously they're dubbed But if you're curious, search for "Quando si Ama" https://www.facebook.com/Il-Club-delle-Soap-e-delle-Telenovelas-860647507401645 I remember the show was huge in Italy. My Uncle, who's an accountant, would literally take a break from meetings to watch it.
  13. I never realized it until now - you're totally right. She was not portrayed as a girl's girl - which is a characterization I'm okay with, because at least she had a personality, unlike today's standardised characters. Jill worked well with David as well as Ryan years later. I think the last ones I enjoyed were Colleen & Lily (Leon/Sherwood) and Sharon & Dru (this one was pretty random for longtime viewers but they were great).
  14. I think they used to do lots of man-woman friendships here - see Sharon and Tony for example. I liked it. Here’s next episode - courtesy of the amazing @BoldRestless
  15. Honestly I hated that scene too. First off, it looked dreary. That was the time the show was beginning to fall down production-wise. Secondly, that scene had Jack Smith's shock value stamp all over it. Every week there was: a slap! a kiss! a scandal! And watching classic episodes with Victoria, I'm sorry but that slap was out of character. She slapped her beloved father over glorified extra Diego Gutierrez or something? For Christ's sake. HT deserves my lifelong respect for walking away from that mess.
  16. Thanks! That was my favorite era of the show 😭 I know you might have responded to this a million times but let me ask you again: is there a way to see the whole list of unlisted episodes you have posted on YT?
  17. Oh yeah, I remember that. Nick stormed out, he threw a chair on the floor. When Sharon walked back into the house she fell exactly on the leg of the chair. It was beautifully coreographed IMHO. Plus it was your typical 'blame-game storyline' (a staple in Bell shows) where you would discuss with people IRL who was to blame really. Thanks for the details! I wish I had your memory!
  18. She had had the hots for him for the longest time. Diego used to work at Crimson Lights. Sharon and Nick had broken up because Nick had somewhat caused Sharon's miscarriage (she was carrying a baby but they did not know if it was Nick's or Matt Carter's since Matt had possibly abused her). I think once Sharon saw Diego with Victoria, that was the last straw lol. Somebody correct me, my memory has never been the greatest. PS. loved the porn intro.
  19. ROTFL! Mitch, I think I've read your comments for the longest time (maybe on MediaDomain? Soapy Syrens? it was some old forum, somewhere) and you've always cracked me up. I always look forward to your posts. Speaking of Marland, I think that it was you that once commented on how he came across as sexually prudish on his shows or something. One definitely needs to have an active sexual life to write these shows IMHO
  20. Hi! Thank you!! And welcome. You know what, I've been wanting to pick up German for the longest time. And voice-actors tend to enunciate very well, obviously. Maybe this is the right time
  21. I flagged this video to Patrick Mulcahey since the 1982 Emmys were a topic of discussion on the GL reunion the previous day. He was so gracious about it! Patrick Mulcahey @MulcaheyPatrick·7h OMG. I can't thank you enough for finding this and sending it my way. I never thought to look for it myself because I never figured it could crossed the techno-border to the internet. A beautiful gesture. Grateful for your kindness. All the credit goes to you @Forever8 for sharing the video and the person who uploaded on YT!
