Yes, of course, it definitely would have come from NBC. They'd been micromanaging the show for years. And, they had a hard on for DAYS at that time.

They just flirted with it. They didn't pursue it. Tomas was an EMT, I think. He had some function having to do with the hospital. And, he reported a vampire, at the hospital. Nothing came of it.

A few years back, Jean Passanante was on Twitter. I got into a Dm chat with her. I was telling her that I had justr posted all of the picture of the Lumina masked ball costumes & where if she happened to want to see them. But, she wanted to talk about it. She said, Hmm, Lumina? Leah & I wrote that together. And, I said yes, of course, that they had. The next words out of her mouth floored me. She said, "It was strange." My God, the way she said it. I couldn't believe it. I mean, if she thought it was strange, which hell yes it was, but who wanted it written? I still am clueless. But, in a way knowing that makes it so much worse.

Thank the soap gods that there was at least some resistance to the DOOLification of AW. Justine wad bad enough, can you only imagine Rachel with yellow contact lenses & she levitates of course. Not to mention that she would have desecrated some church. No telling what they'd have had her doing. I'm not sure what they'd have used for motivation without a Stefano. But I'm sure they'd have come up with something. We're just really lucky that they didn't take it that far.

That was the fans, well, some of the fans. VW didn't want to have late-in-life babies. But the show was convinced that the fans wanted her & Carl to have their own family. You know how that goes. So VW was stuck with it. And, yes, there always had to be story for Rachel. ACK! Jill Farren Phelps spent big bucks that the show could ill afford on this ER/NYPD Blue wholly derivative schlock fest. IOW I couldn't stand it!

Giving credit where its due, begrudgingly, yes, he can write & he has written, but for so long what he has contributed has been lacking in the most elemental ways. I am never sure if he's lazy or some say he's burned out, whatever it is, his writing is not what it should be. Between the ludicrous latex masks & his favorites & his odd sense of humor, which he thinks is some kind of calling. All in all, he is a terrible disappointment.

I agree. Carmen's Iris was substantially different, but it would have been no matter who was playing the recast Iris. The important thing was that she fulfilled the requirements. She WAS the daughter who interfered with her father's marriage at every turn or any opportunity that she could make. Duncan didn't have that honey-mouth "Daddee" but she still wanted to come in between Rachel & Mac. And, Rachel was still a contemporary of hers which only complicated matters even more, just as it had with Beverlee.

I would sell my soul just to have the Lemay years. Even one or two of his first years. It is truly a tragedy that we don't have his material.

Yabbut I feel slightly stupid that I didn't realize this before now. It just goes to show that an unexamined life is not worth living. I should have examined these memories a long time ago, but at least I am doing so now. That's what is most important. And I'm sure that you & others here will assist me in this journey, or memory walk as you have so aptly put it.

My mother watched it from the first day so I was exposed to it before I actively watched it. But as a teenager I became interested in what it was all about. That was it. I was bitten by the soap bug. I would never be free of it. But I also wouldn't want to be without it. I have really strong recollections of the triangle. Naturally i had a great affection for Rachel but also Alice had been a thing for me, Pat's baby sister & I adored Pat. It seemed to me that the whole Matthews family treated Alice like she was something special. I guess that was so. But, don't get me wrong, Alice was not spoiled. If anything she was sweet, no pretensions, didn't put on airs, very level-headed. Now I've made her sound like some goody-goody which she was not. Likely she was just an ordinary girl, although she was very very pretty. Such a blonde, with long curls. She was the apple of many eyes. And, of course, her looks were diametrically opposed to the brunette Rachel, who almost looked ethnic in contrast. So each of them was a raving beauty. Steven Frame was such a lucky man. Rachel is called by some that raven-haired beauty who gave her mother so much trouble. That, too is accurate.

For me it was the 70s. I began watching both AW & DAYS during that summer. 1970-something. Let me see if I can narrow it down. I think that I was 16, which would make it 1967. So not the 70s. That means that Rachel wasn't Rachel yet. By that I mean Robin Strasser was playing her. And, that is accurate. She was Rachel when I first watched the show. Oh, my, I just realized. Agnes WAS SAVING THE SHOW when I first started watching. Amazing! I can hardly catch my breath. This is too much. I cannot believe it. But I know it's true.

Okay, now I've got it. Thanks! Yes, he was good. Loved Jamie and Dennis, together, at that time. Best Dennis. Wished we'd had him, later.

Stephen Yates, yes, good, definitely a contender. Doran, I can't recall. Hmm. Oh no. Gee. How'd that happen? Have to head to the AWHP to look at a picture. Back later.

Give me Richard Bekins, anytime at all. I don't care if Lau was or is the impersonation of Steve Frame I just want a Jamie who can act up a storm. To me Bekins was the real mccoy.

That woman really likes that breed of cat! One of Casey's puppies, Dandy, went to live with my parents & he loved to sleep in the warm clothes in the laundry basket and mother would let him! That's how spoiled he was. He got his name because he loved to bite the heads off of dandelions & make them go poof all over the place.

Yes, that's how delusional some of them are. Not all Sprina fans are like that. But, some of them definitely are. It defies all logic. And, it makes some of us doubt that they are really fans of Trina. It's just exactly like Kelly's fans who would say that she was in a toxic environment & that they wanted the show to keep her on. How do you reconcile those two ideas? They're basically saying that it was terrible & that they wanted her to keep doing it. These things they think are confounding, perplexing, also they don't make a damn bit of sense. They are so blind about Spencer that they cannot or will not see any future for Trina that doesn't have Spencer in it.
