I know long ago there used to a silly stereotype that all gay men had lots of personal wealth because they weren't spending money on children & families. And, also it's offensive. I lost a great many friends to the plague.

Good. That's what I was thinking. Any of us who had a deep love for any of the NY soaps tend to feel that the utter decimation of the once thriving NY soap scene is an exceedingly bitter pill. Oh, I hold very high hopes for fantastic writing, directing & acting! And, for the record I don't think MVJ has Mulcahey because if she did I think it would be boldy stated in press releases, posts & promotion in general. We don't have any record to go on with Duckworth but there's just something about her & I like her. Plus, she just feels trustworthy. I thought it was hilarious today that Michele Val Jean said that when she got the call from Duckworth she did not think it would come to anything, but, etc. What a journey she's been on from that point of totally understandable doubt to being in production! What do people think of Julie Carruthers?

When I try to parse this, I quickly become confused. Those on the left, so liberals, who somehow believe that all gay men are Republicans, now, here, you see, I am thoroughly stuck, why would any liberal think that ALL gay men happen to be Republicans?!! I don't think they would think that. Aren't Log Cabin Republicans a small minority of a minority? If we say, for just one example, that all LGBTQ+ people make up 10% of the population, then just gay, men, who are Republicans, would likely be, what, 2%? 🙄😉🤫

I'm not at all sure that that would be a good thing. Yes, I love the quote. As to the rest, as a gay person, more than half my life all I saw was straight people. You just get used to it. This idea that white folks won't watch black folks is nothing but silly. I realize that you're saying it is not you endorsing it. But, I just think the time has come to get over sh*t like this! It is specifically that 18 minute factor that makes people say that B&B is the easiest soap to watch, the easiest show to access! It literally demands the least of the viewer. Back when we were cancelation crazy & the last 4 NY soaps all fell, they should all have been switched to half hour versions of themselves rather than be canceled. I believe it would have made enough of a difference!

This may be a minority position but I never cared for the recast Emily. She just didn't do it for me.

Do you know the Christopher Guest movie SPINAL TAP? Well, in it, they turn the volume on the amps to 11, which of course, is a major gag because the amps only go to 10. I'm personally a really huge fan of turning the dial to 11! Otherwise, dam* that Iris! Also poor Amanda! If it were me, I would not be excited to be following in the footsteps of either Rachel or Mac!

That was so amazing! They didn't hit even one false note. It was completely accurate & true to soaps & also to its own newness & its oh so specially new blackness! Leslie Charleson included in their brief Notable Deaths in the picture of her standing by the stairwell. NICE!

OMG! What a statement. It almost makes me want to cry, lament these times we live in. When the lead singer of the very gay YMCA singing group has to say something like this, it's just too sad for words.

I believe that Patrick was Lead writer on B&B for Maya's story including bringing her whole family into it. MVJ contributed to that writing.

Shapiro's Folly, didn't it end up being Skye? The most ludicrous possible was Max, of course, with him being a guy not a gal. BTW, I asked one of those HWs what they all thought about doing that? She expressed that they all effing hated every single minute of having to write Rae into their "swear words" stories!!! I laughed so hard at the strong way she said this.
